Search for Envoy Denali on ask.com. I remember I saw a couple reviews but I can't remember the link. They said it felt slow even with the 3.73 gears but I disagree. They must have drove an SS right before the Denali then it would seem very slow.

The 5.3 seems plenty powerful to me but with the torque management it does seem slow off the line. I've found I can take off faster if I only give it part throttle off the line and gradually give it full throttle. With that technique I'd say it's plenty fast. Give it WOT off the line and it seems like a dog.

My wife has a TB EXT w/4.2 I6 and they are night and day difference. Granted it has some extra heft because it's a EXT but the 4.2 doesn't have the torque the 5.3 has and the 5.3 keeps making power as it revs.

I sold our only SS Trailblazer and when I was able to drive it, It did't seem very different except when pushing it. Regular and lower to mid accel felt really similiar to each other. I actually haven't had a 4200 on the road to see the difference with 16 more horses, but i did test the new duramax with 360 horses and the 6 speed, very pleasing.

I noticed the same technique for accelorating really true. Have you experienced the stabilitrak?

Definately makes every engine dog and suck big time. I have also found that only give it half throttle and gradually push it all the way down gives better acceleration.
