I need to know who would be in for purchasing a set of headers for the 4.2L I6 that are in our TB's and Envoys (and all others of course). I have 2 possible manufacturers (1 big, and 1 not so big) that are willing to do it if I can justify the tooling cost.

It would totally depend on quality and price of the unit. For example, if MSDS made a set vs. Weapon-R, then MSDS would be a possibility because they back their product quality 100%.

well if you'd like to work out a deal, they garage working on mine will be doing a prototype and i will get some dyno figures once its complete...anyway, ill send it over if the company over there wants to pay for it, should be a little less R&D for them....
btw wat do u mean tooling costs??

If the cost is reasonable and the net gains are justified...you can count me in. :) I have been looking for a header for some time.

Depends on who makes the header.
Doesn't hedman make one?

they said they did, but i emailed them once and they replied, "these have not yet been put into production"..
I don't think there was enough interest into them, until now :D

That is one manufacturer that is interested. I do need to swap the tranny out (this one is slipping bad on the 2 to 3 shift) before I take the TB up there though (they will multiple dyno runs). I'll name the other possible manufacturer when more things are nailed down.

Depending on the hp and tq gains I may be interested.

I would buy one if it was a full system and came in a single or dual out let depending on the look and power curve

Not to hijack your thread, but...
I have a header builder that is currently making three different headers for the Comp Eliminator guys. I'm having him do them in stainless. He is making my 1/2" header flange for my turbo manifold.

Congrats man.
I can make a header in my shop, but I couldn't mass produce and offer them to very many people with any consistency.

Hellhawk- Totally understood; I was 1/2 way through when I found this guy at PRI. He has also done some porting work on the 4.2 heads & talked some good numbers.
I'm interested if they are properly designed and manufactured. What kind of time frame are we talking?

did anything happen with this HellHawk!? I've bought the tune finally, now i need to find the header to go along and complete my almost full bolt-ons...
Ive emailed quite a few companies regarding creating some for the 4.2L and they want some pics of the exhaust manifold, if u can provide me with some, or anyone in that case, plz post them up...
ppl i talked to was Thorley and they responded quickly
