I've hit the magic 50K when the dealer wants me to open the wallet and let them in...I've read in various posts about changing fuel filter, cleaning the throttle body, changing the fluids, etc. ...

I can't find a manual for the 2004 in the local stores and have been looking at the descriptions provided in here and in the How-To's section, but was wondering if the descriptions to perform these tasks was the same between the 6 and 8. I use to do everything myself, but have gotten lazy the past couple years having new cars that only need the basics like oil changes, tire rotations, etc...I guess it's time to get dirty again!!!

Thanks,
Kevin

Go to www.helminc.com and buy the factory manuals. They will set you back $135 to $150. They are also correct where as the store manuals are not too good these days. If you plan on doing your own maintenance, they will be a real help. Other wise just pay your favorite mechanic.

The real difference in maintenance for a V8 over a V6 is 2 more spark plugs and a slightly larger oil pan.

It won't be exactly the same, because you're talking about an INLINE 6 (like, not a V) vs a V8...

The I-6 takes 7 quarts ... how many quarts does the V8 take?

Yea it was nuts when I changed my first oil!!! I was used to my V8's taking 6 but never thought the I6 would take more than my previous sports cars!!
