Got this from another forum about the 2006 model year vehicles. Found some interseting new options for the TB

-5.3L V8 with DoD is available in all trims
-Tire pressure monitoring system (standard on all models)
-Two new red colors (Bordeaux Red Metallic and Red Jewel Tintcoat)
-Enhanced Quiet Package, includes acoustic laminate in windows and
strategically-placed elements of sound insulation (standard on all models)
-StabiliTrak (standard on all models)

:eek: StabiliTrak and the extra sound deadening on ALL models? AWESOME!! I knew the V8 was going to be comming; but this makes for a whole new ballgame. I can't wait until the '06 parts start hitting the market, it'll mean a plethora of other modding options for the older trucks. Maybe I will get my V8 swap afterall.... :cool:

Yeah. Doesn't seem fair that I could order a SWB TB in LS trim and get the DoD V8, but I would have to order a Denali to get the V8 in a SWB Envoy. :rolleyes:

Thats ok though, I'd probably want the denali anyways.

Well that sucks....No V8 for us. Also, they are getting rid of my color. No more Magnetic Red. I guess not many liked it.

Appears the Magnetic Red is being replaced by Red Jewel Tintcoat, also an extra charge paint color.

It's gonna be a while yet, in the fall probably.

I believe the ordering process for the 05 TB is pretty close to ending and are probably going to be ramping up on the 06 models soon. My guess would be you should be able to get a hold of an 06 sometime in July or Aug.

I talked to a GMC dealer today. He told me last day to order an '05 Envoy was May 13th. Last production date early July. Will start production of '06's in mid July.
