I have an 02 TB. Does the tranny have an access hole to the torque converter and is there a drain plug to drain it. I'm due for a fluid change and don't want to just do a pan drop and fill. Thanks.

What I would recommend is this:

1) Take the truck to a quick-oilchange place, have them run the "T-Tech" machine on the tranny. This will run ALL of the old fluid out and force new fluid through the entire system.

2) Take the truck home, drop the pan, and change out the filter.

3) Re-fill system with a quality synthetic ATF.

4) ENJOY!

This may seem ridiculous, but you'll ultimately be better off that way even though there's a possibility of a minescule ammount of contaminant remaining. It will still be much cleaner than most other methods. :m2:

Thanks. I was trying to save some money (yes, I'm Cheap!). My other truck I can drop the pan, change the filter, and then drain the converter. It gets about all the fluid except what is in the cooler and lines.
I saw there was an access hole today while doing an oil change but didn't crank the engine to see if there was a drain plug.
Anyone else, help please.

This post is old by now, but I went through 2 revolutions and saw no nut to drain the converter. I did see what looked like a weight with 2 shaved off nuts on it though.
