Hi,
After reviewing the priviacy policy on photobucket I'm convinced I want no business with them...
Although there are other places to host images have you considered hosting images at trailvoy?

ya i'm lost, there is no privacy on here either  www.flickr.com will let you select images as "private" and only let your contacts view them. I'm telling you guys, its the best damn image hosting ever!

2 issues with hosting random pics for people 1) storage space 2) bandwidth and theres always 3) questionalbe content :x

Perhaps, once the article software is ported over for vBulletin 3.5.x, I will be able to set the permissions accordingly. Currently we are using attachments only for the temporary article section.

Jimmy sounds good. so do's the free account allow you to do all of that or is there an upgrade that you pay for on the site you mentioned?

I think the only limitation on the free account is you can only upload 20mb per month. Its a good idea to resize your pics to 1024x768 before uploading them, that'll keep them around 300k a piece and make for around 80 pics/month that you can upload.

A nice feature is they have a deal with Target so you can have your photos printed locally and just go pick them up. but if you're printing pics there you proably want to be a member so you can upload full resolution pictures. its only $25/year, not bad at all.

Tommy,
The problem with those public web sites is they will use your information and content in any way they want it... for me that is an issue.

In other car forums I post they always host the images, of course they will not load files with res. > 1024x768 or 800x600 or by size to keep the bandwith under control.

If you're concerned about copyrighted material then it basically the same legal issues hosted or just linked, you still need to have a moderator cleaning all that stuff...

From my perspective its way more convenient to upload images from the the same website.

In example Cadillacforums.com is the same version as this vBulletin (3.5.2) and they host the images...

I think its all about convenience and by looking at the growth in this website I'm confident that trailvoy needs to offer that.

I am not saying that the forum 3.5.x software cannot do it. I am using attachments in a totally different way right now as a temporary fix until I can reinstall the article software which has not been ported over for vb 3.5.x. It's in beta now, so when it is ready, i will be able to allow attachments for registered users.
