while driving at about 5+ mph there is a squeaking sound coming from under the hood, i think it might be a pulley, when i push the gas pedal this sound goes away, let go and it comes back, but does not do this sound at idle, so i cant look to see what it is. any ideas would be great, thanks alot

Try some silicone grease on the two rubber bushings on top of the fender where the hood rests when closed. Many have found it to be the causeof your symptom.

I also have what I would call a whistle noise at low speed, steady accelerator that appeared after putting my CAI on my truck. I have the 5.3 also and that is the only thing I could come up with. It has the be the intake air going in through the throttle body. Maybe some motorheads out there have a better idea...Gets kinda bothersome in traffic.

Look for a vacuum tube that came disconnected, or one of the tubes off the intake. Don't know the details of your intake, but my K&N has a hose that fits into a grommet on the side of the tube. t will suck air and whistle if the grommet gets dislodged.

Correct me if i'm wrong here... but isn't a CAI supposed to whistle? Mine has ever since I installed my MAC CAI on my 5.3. It sounds pretty similar to a turbo spooling up, you can especially hear it at low speeds with the windows down as your driving past parked cars or other objects that reflect noises from the vehicle.

i had a high pitched noise comming from under the hood too. i found out that it was my power steering pump pulley.
