I know there is not an exhaust out there. Since my last post. But I am also having problems with finding an intake. I just want a little more power from the V8. Is that so wrong? :D

Here is an intake kit that I found for the 5300 V8

That is all I have been able to find so far. If I find more I will let you know.

Unfortunately most of the stuff you'll find for the 5300 is for a Silverado or Tahoe application. Though you probably could retrofit certain pieces of those kits to work in a TB....

There isn't much out there besides what is made for the GM Trucks. We might see some more now that the Grand Prix has the 5.3 in its GXP model and because the 5.3 is becoming available in the SWB model.

Is this for the 5.3L V8? I couldn't tell.

Here is what I am getting from K&N's website.
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=63-1110
Also, here is a link for the instructions. It is pdf format.
http://www.kandn.com/instructions/63-1110.pdf
It says this can be used on 03 and 04.

Hope this helps.

New member here, but I found a few items for my 2003 Envoy XL V8 shortly after purchasing it late 2003. True Flow makes a good intake kit which I have and like very much; the GMS MAF is interchangeable (swapped the one off my 2000 Sierra 5.3L before selling it); and the Diablo Predator I have allows for a multitude of changes. Other than that, I'm considering a good low-tone / no-drone stainless muffler.

If you really want to have some fun, the supercharger kits for the 5.3L SSR will also work, as that is essentially the TB/E platform. I also read recently that the LM-4 5.3L V8 that is used in the TB/E is based on the LS-6 aluminum block, and that the barrel liners have the same outside diameter, so it can be bored out and and replace the pistons to create a 5.7L. AFR makes replacement cylinder heads, other compainies make replacement cams, and BBK makes replacement throttle bodies (80mm drive by wire type). Lastly, there are underdrive pulleys, and replacement electric fans to lessen parasitic losses. My Envoy just passed 36,000 mi, so I am looking at least at pulleys, BBK Throttle Body, and possibly an electric fan along with the muffler.

Then again, the 6.0L LS-2 is available as a crate engine!

Here's a link to a guy who's done some mods to his TB V8:

If GM makes the 5.3L engine available in the '06 TB SWB in all trim levels, this will be a big push as far as waking the aftermarket people up. There are already so many after market things for the 5.3 and having this engine in the TB's will be great.

Ok... I found an intake called a TruFlow. Has anyone used one? It looks pretty good.

You could also just put a K&N filter in your OEM airbox.

I think we may need a link.... I've never heard of a TruFlow.

I am sorry it is True Flow. The website is www.airintake.com. The reason this is different then dropping a K&N filter in is that it has larger intake tubes. Also I have heard the sponge filter is better then the K&N. Of course I am just telling you all from what I have heard.

The tubing is an interesting concept, but I still think I prefer a K&N filter. :) :m2:
