This is a two part question:

1) I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. Is there a way to change the lowbeam headlight without removing the grill? I will remove the grill if I have to, but after doing some research some people say there is an easier way.

2) Last winter my 4WD computer somehow died. When I would try to put my truck into 4WD, the orange light just kept blinking and then a red light would appear. Naturally the dealership said it had to be replaced at a price of $400. So i got it replaced and just recently it started doing the same thing again (sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't). Could this be caused by loose wiring and/or a bad installation? If this problem persists I guess I'll be forced to take it back to the dealership, which is never fun.

Thanks for your help.

1. If you've got really small hands you could probably get to the low beam without removing the grill. It's just easier to pull the grill. It might take you an extra 4 minutes but then you can really get to the light and do it right.

Just be carefull pulling those strips that go over the headlight assembilies... I don't know if it was cracked already but I nearly snapped my side strip off of the grill pulling it to get to the headlight... There's only about an inch left of uncracked plastic holding it together as once piece...

I have replaced both headlights on both sides on several occassions without removing the grill....and I've got big man-hands.

Tip: wear some gloves

And yes, I would replace that 4WD switch and see what happens. It is much cheaper than another new TCM.

i'm new at electrical repairs. for the 4WD switch replacement... is it just held in by clips? can i just pry it out with a flathead and unplug the wires from the switch?

if you take the dash trim piece off, you can pop it off...
