When I bought my SS it idled very smoothly.... lately though it seems to be getting rougher and rougher. When I take my foot off the brake and let it coast it surges pretty good, almost like when your rotors are warped when stopping.... has anyone else noticed this after putting some miles on your SS. Might just be me ....:undecided
With almost 400hp I would say it is normal. My CTS V had a rough idle also. It probably has a wilder cam.

I can definately feel the cam lope when I'm sitting still. It's not like monster cam I have in the goat, the car gyrates and can almost put you to sleep, then the exhaust wakes you back up:laugh:

I can't say on the SS since I am still waiting for it, but the C6 was the same way, smooth at first and slowly got a little more rough idling. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

My 10 yr old LT1 with a CC306 cam idling at 750rpm will rattle your loose teeth out :p ... and I think that's just awesome
So, if there's any chance that my TB SS (on order) will give even the slightest indication that's it is truly a high performance vehicle I'll be extremely happy

Being in my early mid-forties (:rotfl: ) it's these little things that makes me feel younger  since everything else is starting to fall off or just simply fails to work at all :(

I been trying differant gas stations around me to see if i get a better idle.
So far
Sunoco 94 ...ok...can live with
Ammoco 93 ..the worst..so rough I had to buy some octane boost, that 108 stuff..work pretty good....feels good now...still a little rough but much better then the 94.
Citco 93 the best yet...will continue to use...may try it with the octane boost and see what happens.
This idle makes me feel like :suicide: .....the red light seems longer now-a-days.
Is the octane boost bad for the fuel system or any other system if used to much?:undecided

I have also noticed the rough idle. I believe it is because of the larger cam duration (its a 2001 ZO6 cam) and the fact that the engine mounts are very tight.
