Georgia Meet! 4-26-08 Atlanta

Ok so awhile ago there was a thread where there was some interest in a GA meet so Chunn and I were going to try an plan something. we don't really have any set date yet but we were thinknig somethin late april early may when then weather is warm down here for anyone who comes down from up north. Some date to consider is the weekend of May 16-18. Year One is having a huge car show and autocross at RoadAtlanta http://www.roadatlanta.com/event_detail.lasso?-Token.eventfile=ev_yearone.lasso&-Token.id=30 so i think that this might be a good activity for us but anyone is welcome to suggest a better date. feel free to PM me if you have any ideas you would like to share or just post them here.

I know that there are a lot of new GA members so hopefully we can have a pretty good turnout. for as long as i have been on here we have never had a GA meet and i think that it is time for an awsome gettogether:woohoo:

Unfortunatley, my area can't still wash our vehicles in the driveway. I don't see our outdoor watering ban being lifted for at least a year, probably two. :sadcry::cry:

I hear what your saying about what member would prefer but go ahead and make it for the year-one show that way you have a date and place. you have to take charge or thing's will get drawn out too long. so do it that way and if you need to change something later, you still have a plan set up.

I have a suggestion for you gentlemen. Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine. Google it. It will be your best friend in the winter and during this crappy drought we are having right now. Please for the sake of your finish, don't put swirls and micro-marring in your clear at the local brush n' go.:yes:

Well i have been searching for an event here in ATL on April 12 all day but there is nothing going on that day. Depending on what everyone wants to do i still think that this will be a good day to meet up. there is a lot to do here in ATL with the all new World of Coke (for all you coke heads:bonk:), the new Georgia Aquarium (worlds largest), and Stone Mountain (huge granite mountain with a football sized mural carved into it) and hey there is even the Gone with the Wind house for DucatiSS. we could be like the trailvoy convoy around the streets of ATL. What do you guys think?

I tried searching accessatlanta which is part of ajc.com and i did not see any listed for that saturday there is 1 or 2 that meet up on sundays but i did not see any listed for that saturday. but i have been to shows in past years so it is possible as the spring comes closer more will post in the paper. I have been to the show every year for the last 6 or 7 years and i have never seen any car leave early the only thing that they run out of are the literature on the cars. I have to work the weekend of the 19th and 20th but i can see if i can get it off if we deside to meet that weekend. and it usually has a good amount of cars show up.

The Varsity is pretty good, but there is a place near me that has some killer chili slaw dawgs in addition to some good onion rings. The chili has a nice kick to it :drool. Not very healthy and you don't want to eat it to often. Thankfully its near Kennestone Hospital in Marietta :ugh::eek:.

My family and I are down with whatever, but just thought that I might throw something out there. Also, I just looked it up and they are having the NHRA Southern Nationals the same weekend that the meet is already planned for. There will be a lot of obnoxious rednecks, but what can I say we live not even two miles from the dragway so that might help us get away from up here while all of the drunks are out. let me know what you guys and gals think. It deff. not a problem for us. My wife and I are excited about coming. The Southern Nationals are up here in Commerce up 85N exit 147 at the Atlanta Dragway. I don't think that ticket are all that cheap and it is better if you are there all day. I was actually thinking about it today and I don't think that it would be such a good idea to go there. Just my :m2: here, but I felt great at 6-7 months on both my pregnancies. Hopefully she will feel the same so yall can make it! As for Ikea - I was just there this weekend. I love that store and would gladly make another trip in April! :D

They have a dyno day every few weeks or so and they charge $50 bucks for 3 pulls. don't quote me that but thats what they have charged the 3 or 4 times i have been there. They have a really nice shop with some really fast GM cars on hand.

I really like this idea. I would like to hear what some of the people who are traveling a lot of miles to come to ATL think of this but i think that it would be a lot of fun. I also would like to know what I am playing with at the wheels:crazy: and we could always take some time during the day to tour ATL

We're going to start out at Vengeance Racing (http://www.vengeancerd.com), which is in Cumming, GA. When we are done there we'll probably venture into the city. There is a car show downtown we might check out. Then possibly over to Turner Field to take some pics of the trucks. After that I'd imagine we'll try to go to dinner, hang out, etc. Come on down, we'd love to have ya! :yes:

I just about got strangled by Spong when he saw the pics of my TB "dirty" in the pics from the STL...ish mini meet. It was just a little road salt, but he went ape!( not really:rolleyes: ) I personally think dirt adds a little character, but hey, that's me.:thumbsup:

Is this meet something amongst friends of this forum or can a guy who just joined this forum 2 weeks ago come as well? I can't think of a better way to become apart of this community than hanging with you guys in person! I'm in Augusta and I see ATL every other weekend (Mom lives in Marietta) so I don't even need the hotel. If this is cool with you all I'm on the list.

:undecided :undecided we usually try to keep alcohol out of things like this! lots of people coming from out of state, its just safer that way
