Just wanted to stop by and get some info on the 07-08 Trailblazer SS as I'm looking to purchase one soon. I'm interested in the AWD version and leaning towards the #ss. What's everybodys opinion on theses trucks? What's you average mpg? Most important what did you pay! Any help or info is greatly appreciated regardless of my questions to you all. Hope to be seeing you folks around here in the fourms!

Welcome to the site! Um yeSS the SS rules! The mileage isn't that good, but hey its a vette motor, but what are you going to do! Also you have to run 93 octane gas, so if you want mileage don't get a n SS! But with a tune and CAI you will get better milage/ponys!

hey welcome to the site!

i just picked up an 08 3SS the day before thanksgiving! i love it its a great truck! AVG MPG is around 12-13 depending on your driving habits HWY MPG is around 15-16. drop a CAI in and get a TUNE and that will increase about 2MPG on each maybe more..

as for price, depends on where you live and what you are looking to do.. lease or buy, and also how much you put down... leasing is gonna be cheaper probly around 500 a month if you buy you might be around 600 a month. again a lot depends on the factors listed

X2 ^^

I also have an 08 TBSS, but mine is RWD. The price is going to vary alot on location, dealership, finance manager, and deals that may be going on. I traded in my 07 Cobalt SS/SC that I owed a little over 21K on and I was upside down on, and managed to finance my TBSS for 27K and it stickered for about 31,800. That was no easy task, but it is possible.

Fuel economy will vary on if you can manage to keep your foot off the throttle, which is VERY tough to do. lol...You add in E-fans, CAI and a tune and your economy will go up a couple miles per gallon. I LOVE mine and think it's well worth the buy.

Good luck and welcome to the site.

First of all welcome! :)

I bought my SS in August and I absolutely love it. It's a very fun vehicle to drive. I have a 3SS with the moonroof, rear DVD, and navigation. I bought it at invoice (around $37,500). As for the gas milage, a lot of it depends on how hard you're going to drive it. I'm at 14.2 mpg. Like Chris said, don't forget you should put 93 octane in it. But, who cares... it's got a LS2 in in!

Welcome BLU! :tiphat

The TBSS (TrailBlazer SS) is an all around Great Truck! You want Power? You Got it!
You want to Hual the kids or move some stuff around? You still can!

Its not a mini van, its not a 2 seater Vett. Its Both! And Better!!

You can get mods and Tunes to improve your power and even fuel milage!

You Want Milage? Wrong Vehicle. Find an old '81 Chevy Chevett.

Heres the basic info on mine.

"I got my '08 Red Jewel TBSS with the 3SS package, Sun and Sound (BOSE System), DVD Entertainment System, Navi,
and the Dealer added the Viper 560 XV Alarm/Remote Start to make the deal, RWD. $33,900.00

Its been the best 2 months in a Vehicle (new or used, fast, slow or a worker) that I had for a long time.
(i've only been driving for 24 years).

Most people on the road don't even know its really a "Vett in Disguise" :woot:

Enjoy the site here, theres loads of Info on the TBSS and all kinds of Cool Stuff!

Spot Out!!

p.s. It really handles GREAT!!

Well I'll start off by saying that my vehicle background is extensive needless to say the least. I currently have a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 with the Cummins motor lifted with 22's and 35 inch tires. This truck gets 23mpg with the crazy larry and the mods. My wife and I are expecting a baby on the way and my current ride will not serve as a DD or a family vehicle. Which brings me to the SS it's not too big but roomy for a family and I can get a lil performance to boot, plus my wife will be able to get in and out of it. I've always been a true chevy guy but it's going to be had to swallow my 23mpg but at the same boat I pay 93 bucks every 7 days to fill her up. Plus my payments are at 630 a month so trading this in will help to lower the monthly cost which will give me a saving so I can put towards fuel in the SS. My last truck was a turbocharged F150 making 600hp. So you folks can see that I go forwards and backwards with mpg. But in the long run I think the SS will save me a few bucks.

Any know problems I may be aware of out of the gate with the 08 besides mpg?

I got my '08 with 250 miles on it, now I'm at 5500 miles as of today.

The only thing I have run into is that the rear diff started to make a very faint whining noise, I read multiple threads, post, replies about others having this happen. I just swapped out the Lube with VP GL100 and the whining has stoped so far. VP Racing Fuel no longer handles their lube, but the Purple stuff (royle Purple) is just as good I hear.

So far thats been my only problem, and its gone now.

I have made a trip to Dallas and back and it ran Great! 17 to 18 mpg hwy.
I get 13 city Daily Driving (that includes gettin On IT too). Use 93 octane if you can.

Typo in my first reply here, :suicide: I got my SS for $33,900.00 not 39,900 (i've changed it)

I picked up my 08 at the end of October this past year with about 14 miles on her, and I'm up to 6K already with no issues. Beat the hell outta her for the first 500 miles, changed the oil, and now I drive normal. I'm also one of the fastest RWD TBSS around bone stock. There are 2 locally including myself that are this quick, then again...location location location. Atco Raceway in NJ has been known for posting up good times because of track prep and sea level.

Correction on my typo above I'm running 38's not 35 inch tires on my current ride.

Haven't had mine a month yet. 1SS, 2wd with sun and sound package. Not sure on mileage. Fun? Well, that's a no brainer. Just rolled over 500 miles. Averages I am seeing are 1SS in the high $20's and 3SS in the low 30's. Good luck.

Welcome to the site!

I have an '06 SS...I love it with the exception of the fact that it is the AWD version...even with the StabiliTrak and traction control off, I can't burn so much as a sliver of rubber....if you had the RWD version, that woldn't be a problem...just hit the button to turn the party-poopers off, and you can smoke 'em to your heart's content! Besides that, the SS is definitely the way to go!

WELCOME!!! My 06 AWD SS gets 19.6 hwy miles. Never bothered to figure in-town milage.:bonk: Why bother?:hopeless
It's been great. Bought it used with 20,500, and now have just under 27,000.
No problems at all, including my trip to Clearwater, FL last November with 2500 total miles.
Sounds like you like mods. This is a good place to read about OPs experiences with different mods. Almost a 'try before you by' thing. Good luck and again, welcome.

Welcome to the site, a lot of great members here. Mine's a black 06 3SS AWD with all the options, 40k window sticker. I picked it up the end of October, 2006, on a year end clearance with a 30k cash offer - God bless home equity! They had three 06's still on the lot and 07's on the floor that were moving instead, with no discount, because of the 60/100 drive train warranty. But with the money I saved, I bought an 84/84 bumper to bumper warranty for $1,520 from Chevy. The factory bumper to bumper on 07-08's is still only 36/36.

I've had a few minor issues, but any dealer I've been to has been very good at taking care of me, although I think they respect me as their senior, my first performance vehicle was a '63 Impala Sport Coupe 409 42 years ago. I love the AWD on bad winter roads here in Iowa. The rest of the time I switch off the traction control and stability control for better performance and fuel economy. I don't care about burning rubber, I want these expensive tires to last. Purposely making audible noise with your tires will also get you a $255 fine here in Iowa.

I've gotten as much as 19.2 mpg on the highway, 18.5 is typical. 14-15 around town. Much enjoyment to you on whatever you decide.

John
