Has anyone out there painted their calipers a color other than black or silver? My Z06 has red calipers and I love it. I am just not sure if it would look good on a black TB SS. Any opinions out there? :)

A caliper paint kit is about $18 CND from walmart. Our calipers don't have smooth surfaces, so it might look bad. That's the only reason i still didn't paint mine.

i painted one red, but i stopped because I'm going to do them all when I take the calipers off of the rotors coz i'm swapping rotors this weekend. there is one pic in my gallery with a 1/2 painted caliper.

I'm sure it would look good. It would look even better if you had some red on the vehicle...maybe a pinstripe...

I've always wanted to do this. I think it would look awesome on a TBSS!

i will after i do the front wheels tomorrow. gosh i was so hung over this morning when I was doing this. ever wake up wondering "where did all my money go? why is my face covered in glitter?"
i messed up and used high heat paint to paint the center of the rotor black. i got some brake cleaner on it and it started eating right through it. need to use caliper paint for painting the rotors, it should be resistant to harsh degreaser.

I'm almost out of cash, better go back to working at McD's. The fronk brake calipers are bigger, they'll look a lot better. I wonder if you can use a permanent marker and write CORVETTE on them :undecided

Probably, but black caliper paint with "CORVETTE" stencils would look much more professional

:duh: when are you guys going to realize that doing that kind of stuff to your car is really lame
like seeing a beat up late 90's honda civic with a fart can muffler and a typeR sticker on it.

JimmyJam, Did you state before where you got your rotors. Did you get new pads too?

got the rotors from R1 concepts on ebay, got ceramic pads from autozone. old pads were probably 1/2 worn..

Sounds good, can I ask how much the total mod was?
jimmyjam

230 for the rotors, 100 for the pads, paint was probably $10

That does look sweet JimmyJam! When I get 22s I know I'm gonna have to upgrade the brakes sooner than later. How do you like the new stopping power?

Yup the red paint helps stops the truck much faster.... HA, had too. I certainly hope they are referring to the rotors themselves....
Sorry for the couple year bump here, haha Im just paintin my calipers Red this weekend, and the brackets silver, so i was looking at some of the Posts.
