My TBSS is almost a year old with almost 20,000 miles on it and the front brake pads seem to be doing a GREAT job of eating my rotors up!!! Does anyone know if these rotors and pads can be replaced under warranty??? or will I have to pay to have the rotors turned and have a top quality pad installed??? If there is anyone having this same problem please reply and also ,what would be the best pad to run on those factory rotors??? It is obvious that the factory pads are harder than the rotors are !!!! Thanks for the help!!!

Sounds normal to me with these trucks. These trucks use ceramic based pads, which eat up the rotors a lot faster than semi-metallic pads. Looks like you're gonna have to pay out of your own pocket :undecided

I have 43k on mine and they are smooth, but worn
IIRC these perticular rotors can be cut if done right but failure rate is high. Brakes are also considered "wear and tear" so they will probably not replace them

I did have the pads replaced for free on my old TB though. The rotors were warped causing the pads to wear unevenly.
I have 35K on this ride and just put wagner ceramic pads on the front. I love them so far. Good stopping power and ZERO dust.

most dealers will cover the brake pad up to 24,000 miles as for the rotor if they can be turned or need replacement they are covered under the 3/36000 warranty........as I said most dealer will work with you but sometimes you just happen to find the store that will not help you ...you can always look in your owner manual for GM's tollfree customer asst.center and have them review your concern......

well what you have to do to get them under warranty is complain of a vibration there is a 20 something page TSB that the techs have to go by which in return given me experience with rotors on SS's they will be under min spec and should be under warranty 3-36 but mostly pads will not be so be prepaired to pay for those but ask for the Dura-stop pads due to them being ceramic

just had this done at the dealership. Im at 30k Pads are VERY low (got about 3mm left) but they have destroyed my front rotors and rears were slightly damaged. They replaced Front rotors under warranty and resurfaced the rears, all at no cost to me! :) Goodluck!
