Once again the quality in my tb comes through. As I started it last night comming out of work there was this vibration sound comming from the engine that I have never even felt before. It stays at idle around 900-1000rpms. Also it is retty loud from inside the truck (you can hear it clearly over the radio). You also feel it any where between 35-50 mph with moderate acceleration. It is also heard when stopping. Any ideas guys?

Just be careful if you take it to the dealer, pull your k & n off so they dont blame that.

Sounds like something bigger than the fan clutch, so if there are no codes, take it in.

Well I have and apt. for Wed. but there is a lot of other crap they have to fix. But anywho I dont know what the filter would have to do with things, its just the "drop in" filter. As for codes no codes and it seems to do it at all speeds. I just turned 20k so that is WAY too early for a cat to be going especially when I put nothing in it. But here is the best part... It didnt do it yesterday for some strange reason but then again there is always tomorrow. But would a PCM reprogram "fix" any of this??? Thanks again guys!!!

I have the same thing. Today it was fine but yesterday it was doing it. I am thinking maybe it is some computer related thing also. I only have 40k

I should find out today or tomorrow about it all. But I think this dealership is starting to give me some problems cause my tb is a piece of crap. I ONLY had 11 things for them to look at and fix this time. I shouldn't complain it was 12 last time.

It sounds like the problem you are having is one of two things. I had a customer recently that had a wicked vibration mostly at idle and at cruising speeds. It turned out to be bad motor mounts, but that one had pretty high mileage, about 90k. The other possibility is the idler pulley below the alternator. My own personal truck makes that noise and I have yet to replace the idler. But I did have a customer vehicle that the idler pulley bearing started to fail and made a similar sound. Replaced the idler, noise gone.

Well it didnt make the drama at the dealer. But I did notice today that the belt was very squeeky and I didnt drive through any puddles so I guess here is problem 1 for next visit. Thanks autotech!!

I have a really loud vibration sound at idle as well. I took it into the dealership today, and they said that it was a normal sound. :weird:

If you don't have any loss in performance or no check engine light. I would take a look at the motor mounts and/or tranny mounts .

i once had a vibration. turned out to be the water pump.
The fan was mounted on the water pumps shaft. As it started to fail, it would make a slight noise, also started eating away at the belt, there was rubber shavings on around the fan area, and when I came to n idle, it was when it made the vehicle really shake. turning the ac on and off made the vibration change, finally when it got very bad, at idle the vehicle REALLY shook. By this time there was a lot of play in the shaft, you could move the fan from side to side....there was a lot of play in it..... and by this point, it started to leak a little coolant. by the way, no CEL or any warnings.
