Has anyone had problems with the stock gas tank neck cracking? Last month my check engine light was on, so after running it through my computer it pulled up with a code stating that there is a gas line leak. We fogged all my lines, but could not find the leak. It ended up being a crack in the plastic neck of my gas tank. Anyone else ever experience this problem?
Thanks.

There is a recall on fuel filler lines for the EXT, but not for the standard TB. You can check w/ the dealer, or maybe someone else on here knows something I don't.
Are you having a hard time getting the gas pump nozzle to stay on, and having to keep fiddling w/ the depth and angle to make it keep pumping? Possibly cracked the filler from having to do that??
I know that this might not be related, but I found the rubber hose that connects the plastic filler to the tank was kinked on mine (because it's actually too long), and restricting the fuel flow....hence, the nozzle wanting to shut off prematurely. I loosen it, cut off about 3/4", re-atttached it, and it was much a much straighter shot for the fuel.....much less hassles w/ the pump nozzle shutting off too soon.
Hope this helped.

Yep, I had problems when fueling up. I had to keep repositioning the nozzle to get it to begin fueling. I just replaced the tank and it seems that the problem is gone.

Maybe you cracked it when you replaced the fuel tank and didn't know it?
BTW, why did you have to replace the tank?

well i'm not exactly sure. i have a waranty through the dealership that i baught the TB from, so they replaced the tank for nothing. I figured why say anything if they're willing to give me a new tank for nothing.

I posted this info under another thread. It would be cool if the mods condensed all these OEM,Fuel tank, neck filler crack threads. I had mine replaced yesterday for free after contacting Chevy customer care.
