DASH QUESTION?! please help

Well guys I was in my 2004 Envoy SLT tonight and on the upper dash right up near the windshield it looks like 2 Vents or speakers near the pillars.... Are they vents (cause there is now air coming from them...) or are they Speakers (cause there is not sound from them...) Or is it just for looks?

Those are for the tweeters for the Bose System. You must not have Bose in your Envoy. You can custom install tweeters in there. What a difference in the sound. Look into buying components for the front, and replace the rear spaekers also (the stocks aren't that great non bose). Hope this helps:m2:

Does anyone know what has to be dissembled in order to reach those speakers in the dash?? From the grills they look like they were suppose to be 3.5'' speakers... I have a 2002 non-bose w/4 speakers also and would like some separates up front... I don't wanna have to remove the dash to get to those spaces though... Greatly appreciate any info provided.... :thumbsup:

I belive that plastic piece that the speaker grills are in just some out fairly easy. I read it somewhere on here..Im sure someone will have a better explanation soon enough. I dont know if they are 3.5" you could just put tweeters in there... it would be easier since those are like 1"
