These are the SS build numbers, I ask for a further break down of the colors and how many, but was told that we don't keep that information locally but there is a huge archive in Detroit that does.

2006 - 9361
2007 - 10726
2008 - 4068*

* Model Year Numbers Built to Date - As of 2/18/08

So they are only making 4068 this year or is that number still increasing?

Just wondering.....

That number is still increasing, I guess I should put in a little disclaimer for that.

I was just making sure because if that was all they were making then I needed to go and get mine soon before the one I want is gone.....

We were told 2006 had 8808 TBSS's built. Chris at Vector said he got the info from someone on the inside. Close enough I guess...

I went upstairs and had a guy pull up the numbers for me, these were the numbers that he gave me. He told me that between Model Year 2006 & 2007 they changed the way they counted the SS being built and that the 2007 & 2008 numbers should be dead on, but the 2006 was based on a calculation of number of production vehicles built at Moraine, with the SS being 3.XYZ% of that production number. (I dont have the print out he gave me at home I left it on my desk at work, I'll try to post the exact % on Monday)

So the next question would be how many more till they are done with the SS? Talk is this model year, others say '09??????? If you can give that info:rolleyes: I know this platform is done no matter what in '10 cause you guys change over to making diesel engines at the plant right:sadcry:

This has been on my mind a lot lately, can anyone confirm if the SS is dead after MY 08 or will GM make it for MY 09? If its dead after 08 I need to get my hands on one now because the way I want it optioned...

GM hasn't said that it will stop making the SS in any year that they plan to build the Trailblazers that we have heard.
Also, we won't be switching over to building engines. We have a sister plant in Moraine, DMAX, which assembles engines. DMAX is a joint venture between GM & Isuzu for building Diesel Engines. They are represented by IUE-CWA Local 797, where as we are represented by IUE-CWA Local 798. Different local unions, different locations, they have a clear future after 2010, where we currently do not.

My bad, I saw the news and it said Moraine and I thought it was you guys. Let us know here on the board what we can do to show our support other then just sending a letter to the person you mentioned. Maybe we should get a big meet together and all show up outside GM's doorstep in Detroit.

You would want to show up outside of the Renaissance Center, towers 100,200,300, and 400. I'll bring the coffee, and we'll stay 'till they guarantee us a next generation Trailblazer. Who's in?

These are total Production#s for 2006 from Brian Goble @ GM who been helping with this
ss 2wd: 3289
ss 4wd: 5530

This may be of intrest to some of you but as you know the 06 Red Jewel (80U)
is the rarest of the bunch. The color in fact was not made available until the last of the 06 production year, and certainly not for the LS (SS or Not).. Fact is, the build books didnt even show any other colors than Black, Superior Blue, Silverstone Metalic and Summit White for 06 the RedJewel was and end of model year option for the LT Trailblazer but only a handfull slipped through the cracks on the SS . This information can be found at any Chevy dealership ref. 2006 Chevrolet Product Portfolio Publishe July 2005

So hang on to the 06 Red Jewel, there were only a few built. were talking as low as single digits

Waiting for the color break down for '08, specifically in Black Granite Metallic. Sorry to see that we're done (like we all predicted). You won't get "gravy" in our cars anymore at this price range.

2006 Red Jewel SS For Sale:
Get one of the rarest colors ever made on a High-Perfromance SUV!
Asking $165,000 firm.

But seriously though, do you really think I can actually get more because of the color. Someone could just buy a '07 or '08 Red Jewel if they really wanted to. Am I wrong?

Any info on the 08's? My guess it will be low. And the 09's? Which I believe production has already stopped.
