Hi Folks, I'm a rookie with no techno skills, but I AM a gearhead. My SS is a blast, but I'd like to hear more about that "tune up" I've been reading about. I can't wait to get promoted to "member" status. What in the heck is a "post" and what is a "thread" used for? Computers make my head hurt. LOL.:bonk:

Lets see, A thread is what you just started here. Think of it like a string of posts. A thread is started then each reply along with the original statement is considered a post.
The tune you are referring to is not a "tune up" in the traditional sense but in fact a change to the engines computer or PCM or ECM as some call it. The computer controls lots of things on our trucks and the "tuners" are people that change the computer to help get the most out of our engines.

Hey man welcom to the Forum. There are a couple places to get the tune. ADM performance or Vector motorsports. They are probably very similar. I went with vector on my truck and love it the most notable gain I've felt is in the tranny. Shifts a lot firmer and gets rid of that first to second slip shift or whatever they call it. Whats even better is if you make any mods you send your pcm/tcm back to the vendor and they update it for your mods. You can use your original pcm/tcm but you will be down a truck for 1-2 days. They next day air the update pcm/tcm to you. Again Welcom and good luck.

You drive up I75 to detroit. You get a tune at the source, and then cruise woodward. and we have and ikea in canton michigan. hell you could just move up here there is a nice selection of houses for sale.
