Ok I just changed my pads this past weekend and also put on new rotors..Its an 03 Trailblazer (Short one) The brakes were seemein to slip when I would almost come to a stop. It had 50K on it, the pads still look like they had aprox 50 to 75 % left but were starting to crack on the sides (not the part that hits the rotor).. Anyone had this problem or something similar... I can't believe a pad with that much wear left would crack....

IMO the stock pads were crap... i noticed mine cracked before i replaced them.. they had a lot of meat on them too. I replaced them with HAWK HPS perf pads from tire rack, along with some drilled/slotted rotors, made a huge improvement.

If they were the stock pads, they were having problems with them under heavy braking... I cracked two front pads going to a fire back in Sept. Almost could not stop... what a mess.

Lucky you could stop, otherwise the other firemen would have 2 accidents to address.:o

I think I'm about due for my pads/rotors to be replaced...:hissy: I've got almost 68K on the factory ones and notice some serious brake fade during heavy braking. Of course...like BluLytes, I only really notice it on fire calls... It takes a good stomp to slow the TB from about 105. :D
