Anyone have an idea of when the GM Card is going to announce it's redemption allowances for 2007 models? I figured that since the '07 Tahoe is now being sold, we would see the 2007 redemption allowances soon.
Here's the link that shows 2005 and 2006 redemption allowances. I'm hoping the TB will get bumped up to $3000!

When did they start this "allowance" stuff? My GM Gold Card has a $3500 rebate limit, but there wasn't any vehicle specific allowance when I redeemed my full $3450 in 2002 towards my current TB (plus I got a $2002 rebate and another 10% off the MSRP at the time too).

They changed it a few years ago. When new card members signed up or if current members decided to switch to the new card, the new "allowance" requirements changed. Don't know the real details, but each vehicle has a max rebate allowance that you got from the GM Card unlike the $3500 max rebate on just about every vehicle on the old plan. I have the old card and its benefit and will continue to keep it instead of going to the new card plan.

Yep just checked my card deal is still the old up-to $500/yr X 7 yr. $3500 max. I like the old deal better too because I generally keep a vehicle at least 8 to 10+ years. So as I read it, anyone getting a new GM card gets the vehicle allowance limits, but no annual limit. The one Plus I see with the new deal especially if you trade cars every few years, you can run up a maximum allowance faster.
Older members have a choice but they can't switch back to the old way. That is why I'll stay with the old car. Their interest rates are starting to get too high though.

Mine is the new way and works okay for me. Allows me to run up as many points as I can and use as many as I can ($2500 for TB). If you plan on buying multiple cars the new way would be best, as I still have points left over after my purchase.

Looks like the first three 2007 GM Card Redemption allowances have been published:
2007 Cadillac Escalade $1,000
2007 Chevrolet Tahoe $1,000
2007 GMC Yukon $1,000
