:worried: My 03 TB seems to be bogging down somewhat @ around 53-60 MPH on Over Drive. Not really bad but you can feel it a little. Once you steep down hard on the gas it will pick up though, a little. I have made no mods to it as of yet. I do plan on putting a CAI & TBS on tomorrow though. I am also looking to put an new exhaust on it soon. My local muffler shop says they can put on a "LARGE" Magnaflow on & drop the resonator & it will sound good. Has anyone done this in this kinda way? Any help would be great, Thanks in advance.

If you drop the resonator you may end up with a good deal of drone at 1500 to 2000 rpm's.
Can you explain "drone" I am looking to replace my exhaust with a cat back. drop the muffler and the resonator. are there issues with this?

To me drone is excess resonance or noise. Someone else might like the extra noise.

Drone to me = Fart Can Noise = Ricer Noise = Bad Noise

Fart Can Noise = Now that's funny!
Thanks for the definition:) . I read a good post about exhaust farther down in this forum. You guys are full of great info. thanks for your knowledge:hail:
in changing the stock setup it would be best to keep a resonator? Is there an aftermarket resonator or is this just simply a 2nd muffler. I checked out the borla kit and the grand tag is out of the question.

You probably have a 3.42 rear, and the bogging down is because at 45-60 MPH, you'll get pretty low in the rpms in 4th gear/overdrive. I really don't think a larger exhaust will help the bogging down. What will help is a shorter gearing, or leaving it in 3rd gear. But you probably don't wanna leave it in 3rd at 60 MPH... your gas mileage will go to poo.

Removing the resonator gives it a louder growl at launch. It's nothing like a fart can at all. It sure scares those ricers :raspberry

Getting back to the original post, I also have experienced this happening at about ~53-62ish MPH, especially when I am accelerating slightly. It seems as if the I6 bogs down and doesnt want to accelerate very quickly. If I really need to pass, I will drop the pedal just enough to make it downshift into 3rd, then passing is no problem, otherwise I dont worry about it.

BS.
Its definately not for fuel economy, it is just something with the engine and tranny combo. Anyone with the V8 have this problem too?
