So I'm detailing my TBSS the other day, and like a good little anal retentive freak, I'm wiping down the engine compartment with a damp towel, just a little water on the towel after drying off the exterior - and lo and behold, the silver surface (part of the 4 stripes on the removable engine cover) just starts wearing away....driver's side stripe, right at the end closest to the radiator. Just a little. I wipe it with my finger, and it's soft and comes right off...

Dohh!! :duh: I hate it when little stuff like that happens!

Anyone else notice this?

I bought one to cover the neked engine on my '05 5.3L. By the time UPS delivered it to me some of the silver surface had rubbed against the cardboard container and had come off. At first I thought it was some black on the silver, but rubbing showed me just the opposite.

Bottom line, sounds like a issue that will repeat itself. :hissy:

I'll just keep chanting, "LS2, LS2, LS2...." when stuff like this happens, I guess. :suicide:

No, configuration of the I6 and the LS2 are completely different, you would have to hack up the SS cover so much to get it to fit that it would look horrible.

Erik is right, especially if you have an aftermarket intake or anything. I had to hack up the resonator on the top pf my 4.2L just to get it to work with my True Flow. You'd kill the SS cover. :m2:
