I have a friend that works at a gas station and a guy placed a picture in there that says he is selling a set of american racing rims for 475.00 without tires. I looked them up on discount tire and they would be 1500.00 for the wheel and tire package so im thinking about getting them. The only problem is that they are 17's I sort of want to go higher but for the price I cant go wrong. Anyways what's the best size tire to put on a 17" wheel?

I have seen 20's and 22's on E-Bay for just the rims and the price is in a few cases only about 200 more. I would not settle for 17's unless it is what I wanted or they were free. Just my opinion though. I have seen everyones 20 & 22 inch rims and that is where I am headed when I save the coin.:m2:

first you have to make sure they will fit...also you'd have to figure in at least a couple hundred bucks for new tires.

More like $500 or 600 for the cheap 17" tires. A really good set can still cost you up to a grand.

Six lug, 5" diameter bolt pattern? You know that we have a unique lug pattern, and most gas station sellers aren't going to be selling anything that fits. If your buddy said the ad specifically mentioned Trailblazer/Envoys, then I withdraw my concern.

gotta be honest, 17" wheels and tires arent going to make that much of a difference. poepl put 17s on honda civics man. you can get a set of 20s or black center 22s on ebay for that price.

I have purchased from www.victoriatire.com (http://www.victoriatire.com) 3 times already and found they are the cheapest place around to buy rims and tires. Awsome website also. Type in your vehicle and they show whats available for you. You can get 20s for $1500.00 shipped! -Rims and tires mounted, balanced and ready to bolt on when they arrive.

I wouldnt settle for 17's. you have to go with 20s or bigger to get some respect on the block. Even 20s come stock on some trucks. I had 15X10 wrapped in 33s but that was my 95 gmc 4x4. thats the only way I would go smaller that 20s is if it was 4X4 and was going to use it to offroad. :m2:

I would go 20 or 22...but that is just my :m2: ....you could probably find a good deal for maybe an couple of hundred more if you shop around, you just have to be sure what you really want:yes:, you may get the 17's and then decide they are just not for you, weigh all your options;) :D
