I think Chevy did a pretty good job on the driveline/handling and exterior, but does anyone else feel like they were sleeping on interior touches? A. dash is all black and no other features to make it stand out B. suede seats are great, why didn't the rears get this as well? C. the SS logos are cheap, especially the one where the 4WD functions were. Just wondering if anyone feels the same and what you plan to do about it.

In general, yes they are cheap. Everything's plastic and monotone :weird: They should add some leather on the dash instead of that cheap plastic

One of the nicest ones i've see... forgot who it was, but had carbon fiber dash kit... looked really nice.

I put a dash mat on my dash just to be a bit different and it catches some of the heat even though it is black also.

It's PonyKiln who has the carbon fiber dash kit on his SS. Check out his gallery for a pic.

You can get a molded dash kit on ebay for about $300.00 dollars-worth every penny. I got the brushed aluminum kit and it looks factory installed!!!! The kit comes with a one piece part that covers the cluster and radio/AC/heater molding-fits right overtop your excisting trim piece and fits nicely. Its held on with very thin 3m 2 sided tape. It also comes with the left, center and right vent covers, driver and passenger door door lock/window switch coverplates and the shifter console area. Each pece is molded to fit on, except the shifter area which is almost flat. These kits are way better then the cheesy flat dash kits by far. You can get a variety of colors, carbon fiber, brushed aluminum, wood or colors. It is almost a must for the boring Trailblazer dash. The Envoys have a very nice layout, but they stopped at the trailblazer.

I also hate to see that cheap plastic filler piece in the old 4wd selector hole. It seems to get mt attention eveytime I get in and start my truck.
This was a chance for the SS engineers to place a good looking badge in the face of the driver.
Other than that the only issue that I donot like is the cheap plastic cover on my center console.(LS model). The LT cover is much nicer.

Yes, the interior is cheap - but that was obvious (and expected) before I bought it. But it's fast. For cheap!
But I don't think I'll change anything...when I want nice, I'll drive my RX330...but that's not as much fun, is it? :)

My 35th LE Camaro came with a metal plaque from SLP that had a nice touch. Would have been nice to see that from Chevy. Maybe someone will do something like that, a nice circular brushed disc w/the emblems from the doors or something. Post pics of that interior w/the brushed kit. Would be nice with the brushed shifter handle.

Re that plastic filler piece...I'm thinking of replacing it with a needed gauge, either a trans temp or engine oil temp. Maybe a dual gauge like this:

No rattles/squeaks and the seat is comfortable so that is about all I care about...I'm happy.

Yeah, the interior is rather ho-hum. The dash and guages are boring and the seats aren't anything special, i like the SRT-8 seats much better. I'm switching my seats out for a nice set of racing seats, probably from Corbeau who has everything in microseude now so i wont have to worry about cracks in the leather or the occassional drink spill. i will have to get custom brackets made but i'll worry about that when the time comes.
as for the dash, i'll figure something out but it won't be anything too spectacular.
