Does anyone know for sure the composition of our stock brake pads?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they are ceramic.

They are not ceramic, that's why you get the brake dust on your rims.
IIRC, they are of the same material as the corvette pads. There is a GM replacement that is ceramic, but they don't stop quite as well as the OEM pads.

No way they're ceramic with all the dust. I'm trying to find out if GM offers a ceramic pad for the SS's because I HATE brake dust, and I'm getting ready to G2 my calipers so I thought I'd change the pads at the same time.
Anyone know of any part numbers for ceramics for the fronts and rears of an '07 2WD?

Does anyone have Hawk ceramic pads? I heard those are pretty good!

I believe the pads on my 04 ext are stock,and i get hardly any dust from them. im not sure what they are made of, but the ext does have larger rotors than stardard so i dont know if it changes anything

I just replaced the front pads and rotors on my TB, and am about to replace the rears. When I was in the parts store, the guy behind the counter told me my truck called for ceramic pads.

Note the OP was talking about TB SS brake pads. They are different composition than the other TBs.
