Ok, so couple months ago I had to jump start my voy...once started my 'Service 4WD' light came on. Didn't have any problems, so didn't really worry about it (lack of time and money contributed to this procrastination). Well, this past weekend I pull into a parking spot and the 4LO engauges on its own...ok..time to get this looked at (sigh). Go to take into the dealership that Monday am...start it up, back out of the garage...go back into to grab some things....go to start the Voy....CLICK!....just great....back the wifes car into the garage to jump it (lol...mind you i was an asst. and then the service manager at a Chevy-Buick dealership for almost 9 years before moving to Florida)...hook the cables up and hop in to start it...wife says:'honey the cable on your truck battery is smoking'...oh sh**!...yeah red on black, black on red will cause it to smoke!...(played dumb to wife, still haven't told her...lol) holy crap! what the hell did I do! I'm just hearing $$$$$$$$ in my head...get it towed to dealership....just told them about the service 4wd light and no start condition...didn't want them to know about the cable fiasco and sound like a complete a**....so they called with the news of it needing a battery and the TCCM just needed re-programmed (Code C0550)...luckily I didn't fry anything electrical...everything works like a champ still....just thought i'd share in the humor (and lack of common sense on my part) with my fellow TrailVoy'ers:weird:
