 I've had that problem and the fuse was good. Must've been bad contact. I took the fuse out to check it, it was good, I put it back in and the selector lit up and all was good.:woohoo:

Pull and checked all the fuses and disconnected the battery and it still came back on.

It's possible the TCM is shot...happened to mine, and I tried all the fuse pulling, battery disconnect, etc, but nothing worked.
Ended up going to the stealership...pretty expensive for what it is....I think the whole thing w/ labor was $375, but don't quote me on that.
You might be able to get a local repair shop to do it cheaper if they have the right tech testing tools to recalibrate it to the computer.

Yes, i had the same question for the dealer, and as long as it's an electrical issue, no problem running the truck.
Mine happened in Sept. 2 yrs ago, and I waited until just before snow season (Middle of Dec.) before I got it done....had to save my pennies to get it done.:sadcry:

:m2: Should be ok. You just won't have 4x4. But I would get it checked when possible.
