Hey guys, I hope this isn't a duplicate post. I searched and found nothing, so I figured I would share.

This company manufactures differential covers, and happens to make one for the Chevy SSR. Apparently this same cover works for our rear ends.

It may be stronger than our stock covers (due to the ribs), and has a 1/2 qt. more capacity over stock.

From their site:

This cover has a fill hole on the top and a drain plug. For an additional $35 machining fee, this cover can be machined for a 1/8" NPT temperature sensor. The boss centered on the right side is left unmachined. It is there for future applications for this differential. All this for $150 for the cheapest.

Here's the link. What do you all think?

Very nice find. Won't work along with my Purple Cranium Spider, so I'll have to pass. I think the Spider is a bit stronger, but this is a really good product to have on the market for us!

I was thinking it could provide similar protection to the purple cranium (maybe), while providing more functionality... a temperature sender may be a nice thing to have in the future. It also wouldn't be a clearance problem for the panhard bar, as the PCs are.

.... a temperature sender may be a nice thing to have in the future. ..I carry one of those $50 laser pointer IR sensors to check quickly for hot hubs and the diff., but it would be nice to have an in-cabin display in real time. Hmmmmm.
