Not sure what the final disposition will be on my seating issue, but my guess is that GM will eventually say that the seats are designed this way, and in order for me to keep and enjoy my TBSS, I will simply have to get different seats.

I haven't had experience with seats other than stock, but for as long as I can remember, Recaro has been the leader in aftermarket sport seats. Is this still the case?

I also have seen Sparco brand seats, mostly in ricers, but I know nothing about the quality or reputation of Sparco products. Is this a good company? Do they make good seats? Should I consider them? Are there any other manufacturers I should look into?

It appears that Recaro may require their own brackets to mount their seats. That could be a problem since the TBSS floor is uneven and the stock mounting assembly is what keeps the seats level. I wonder if the Recaro/Sparco seats could mount to the stock rails.

Any input, advice, or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I can't answer most of your questions. But I have driven in a Recaro seat before, and it was awesome. I was amazed at how much of a difference it actually made while still being comfortable (at least for the short time I was in it). I would imagine you will have to do some custom fabrication to make them fit though. Good luck.

Bride seats are awesome but don't know if they are only for imports.Just do a search cause I don't know their home site.
Recaros are easily going to cost you a couple G's, nice seats though.

Corbeau is nice too. www.corbeau.com (http://www.corbeau.com)

I had a friend way back in the 90s who outfitted his car with recaro seats. He was able to use his stock mounting assembly with of course some fabrications. IMO recaro should probably have brackets that would be able to adapt to whatever railing they are placed on since they make aftermarket seats and not just OEM. That's just my:m2:
