hey guys, I have the Halo projectors for my 02 Trailblazer LTZ. Thing is, after about 2 years, my left low beam bulb started to break really really fast. Once it pops, I put in another one, and in 1 day, it pops again. I can see all the white powder inside the headlight now. Why is it always breaking so fast? Is it the headlights, is it the powder inside the headlight casing, should I switch to stock headlights, or is it the wiring and do I need to restart the software on the TB? Please help guys.

What exactly do the 'halo' lights entail? Is it just a replacement housing, or bulbs, or both? From the sound of it, you're trying to run bulbs with either too much wattage for the wiring harness to handle, or too much heat for the housings to handle.
Let us know which parts are aftermarket and which are OEM, as well as what wattage bulbs you're running; I may be able to track something down on an electrical diagram for you if I know more details. ;)

hey thanks for replying. Here's a pic of the halo projector. It's aftermarket. The bulbs these run are different than the stock headlights. These run H3 for low beams and H1 for high beams. The bulbs I run are just 55w bulbs. Nothing really high. It's just a normal stock yellowish headlight color. No white/blue or anything. Power of the bulbs shouldn't be a problem.

OK. I would say something there is causing the bulbs to overheat; from what you're describing probably the housings are at fault. I'd also examine how you're handling the bulbs during instalation, since oil from your fingers can cause bulbs to blow prematurely as well.

I'm very good in changing my bulbs. I made sure no oil or anything touches the bulbs... I even wear clean rubber gloves. If the headlight housing is the problem, is there anybody out there that can sell me a replacement left side Halo projector headlight with clear corners? I don't really want to spend $300 on a new pair when my right side works. Also, if it's my trailblazer's wiring or software, how much would it cost to fix if warranty doesn't cover it? thanks

I think most dealers charge a minimum of $99 to hook the Tech2 up for software issues... as for the wiring harness I'm not sure what the cost would be.
