I was wondering if anybody has put on a glasspack muffler to replace the resonator. They are cheaper and smaller that chamber mufflers. So I didn't know if anybody has done this and what kind of sound would come out.

I haven't got any response on the thread, so maybe I'll ask this. Anybody try a smaller muffler other than a chamber muffler? I'm looking for something under $50 but yet still sounds good, not like a ricer.

All I'm going to say is "you get what you pay for." :m2:
That's why I have yet to do anything to my exhaust. I just bought a cheap chrome tip that I'm gonna try to get installed today if I have time, but I'm waiting until I can afford a corsa or borla kit to do anything further with it. (meaning probably when I wear the stock exhaust out)

I would like to have one of those kits, but I can't seem the shell out $900 on exhaust. I thought maybe a stainless Magnaflow muffler with the tip on it, nothing to crazy though. The TB is my wife's primary vehicle so I don't want the drone inside.

I have thought about the same thing, even if you did remove it it should still be pretty silent cuzz you still have the main muffler and the cats..
My mustang I took out all 4 cats and put in dynomax mufflers and its still not even loud..
I would think a glasspack and a good dynomax muffler would work well.. I would only do a single exhaust also.. I just think its weird for a straight 6 engine to have dual exhaust..
So get a dynomax bullit and high flow muffler welded in with a nice looking tip and it would be bad ass..

A big reason it is loud in the back seat area is that there is absolutely no sound deadener in the rear quarter panel areas. If you put sound deadener in those areas it will tone it down some.

I'd like a dual exhaust simply for the looks but can't handle a lot of noise. I do have a child in the back seat and we make frequent trips to Texas and back. I think I'd go crazy if it was too loud:eek:

I have hacked mine off, and it does not get louder by much. I also have a glasspack that you can see if you look in my gallery.
