With it being a 2wd I hope it doesn't spin its way out of a 12. I know if I cut a 1.7-1.8 60' I'd be there. The air wasn't the best either but we'll see.

Awesome times!!! Great to see an SS in the LOW 13s with a Tune and Filter!!! Just plain Awesome!

RWD's are gonna be consistently faster IMO. If a 10.5" tire can go 7's why couldn't you get an SS to hook. Congrats on the low 13's. Did you run it stock?

funny, I am thinking the same thing....On the street the AWD's will have a 0-60..70 edge, but the full qtr the 2WD's will be quicker & Faster, it just makes sense..

no sorry never ran it stock. I had to drive 4 hours south to run in carolina.
Our tracks don't open for another 2-3 weeks. I went to Fayettville to my wifes sisters house. I said well since I'm so close!!:D

were you able to avoid the water box?? one of our tracks here (of course the better one to run at) you can't avoid the water...I still left alright with my FWD GXP, but I hate the cleanup afterwards, and I'm wondering if anyone else had to "light" their tires up, before they run?? either in the water or a dry burn? I'm going in a few weeks.

no most tracks here freak if you try to go around the box.

Atco eliminates the guessing work, there are two arches one for each lane and they LOVE to spray the entrances down...GOTTA KEEP IT NICE AND WET THE MF'S...sorry, it's aggravating..the best is when you're about to go through it and the guy gives you the look like "ahhh, street tires, here's something for yuh!!!" and then lets it loose!! water everywhere..

Tony -

I hate to ask a dumb question, but since I never raced a 1/4 mile track - what cleanup? From spinning tires in the wet, probably nasty, water? Or something worse?

MUCH worse, combination of Rubber and track..some of it is yours, but most is from DR's & Slicks, that leave their rubber on the same ground your spinning it up and it gets in the wheel wells, on the lower rear qtrs, and more, so that's one of the down sides of 2WD, but gotta take the bad with the good as they say...and at the track, if you hook with the 2WD it's like some free mods VS an AWD (lighter, less rotating mass & more HP to the ground)

I hear all you have to do is spray your car with PAM before running and that makes cleanup much easier.

given there wasn't much of a difference in the 60's, is the 2WD a little quicker/Faster given the obvious reasons? Chris what's your take? in fact isn't the 2WD 60' worse than the AWD that went 13.5?

I had a 2.02 60' slightly better. Obviously the weight savings and no distribution loss through the AWD transfer case helps a lot!

once we start hitting the 12's AWD will rule stock tire, but alls we need is a 20" stickier tire and now we got a race! do they make a 20" DR?? what is the stickiest street tire non-DR? or just put a 285 on the back?

it's the MPH that's catching my eye...that's a HUGE margin, don't you agree? what could account for 4mph?

recorded times at least, speaking of which are we going to have a Track time listing all our trucks fastest to slowest??

I think that guy with the AWD Vector/Conv is going to be the quickest...unless there's a secret nitrous guy on here lol..

lot of different things going on!! I will be putting the SS3600 Yank in my SS.
I have owned many cars/trucks with stalls and the yank is the best by far.
I won't knock anyone elses stall but I have seen Yank take .7-.5 off ETS.
I will be putting on a DRY 125 shot too.
