i drove threw i water hole and my transfer case started to hesatate to shift by the next day it wont shift into 4 wheel drive at all i can here the shift motor trying to engage and it sounds like it does but the front tires dont spin and the transfor case makes a kind of winding/slite grinding noise. NEED HELP

Are any lights blinking, where you turn the knob into 2h, AWD, 4h,4l? That happened to me once and it turned out to be the transfer case control module. At the dealer it costed about 500 +-. ODBII reader should give you the code.

Water, salt and electrical current = corrosion.
You can probably fix by opening the electrical connectors at the transfer case, dry and clean and re-connect, it should work.

The tcase shouldn't be making noise and hesitating to shift if it's *JUST* the front actuator though. Front actuator will merely prevent the front wheels from engaging and as a side effect, will display a blinking light on the 4wd switch (note, other issues also cause the blinking light).:m2:
Maybe be check out the encoder motor wiring, in keeping with that theme and hoping it's a 'cheap' fix.

there is no blinking lights when i select 2 or 4 wheel it stays lit up im going to check out some of those things this weekend i will get back to you guys thanks a lot
