View Full Version : Anyone need Strobe foglight housings?

So in planning my strobe install, I drilled out some fog light housings to install clear hide-a-way strobes in them.

I have decided not to use these in my install. Would anyone be interested in them? The strobe tubes worked when installed, and I would test them before selling. tubes are sealed in the rear to prevent water leakage into the housings.

One housing is a GM part, the other is aftermarket, and on the aftermarket one the adjustment does not seem to want to work. Housings would come with beackets, and undrilled mounting brackets for a TB LS.

I will take more photos of them hopefully tonight. Was thinking $75 for the housings, strobe tubes, and brackets.

Will post also in the classifieds.

Thanks for looking.

Hey Diablo -

I would just rather not go through the hassle of the fog lights.

At this point, I have this idea for the front:

1594

That may change. Time will tell.

theres plenty of room behind the grill for strobes... mainly at the bottom.. at the top should be enough for it... keep us updated...

i would take them but 2 things... 1. i already have fogs... 2. i should have strobes lol

You just need a bigger allowance of "Install" time... keep the fogs AND do the other strobes like you pictured...

i like that idea, but howabout for the hideaways if you put one of each color or each side and then had them change based on color instead of side....

like blue (x3) white (x3).......and if you wanted it to be really different you could have the blue on the left flash with the white on the right and then the left white flash with the right blue.....

get it?

cause i think i just confused myself......

That is what I was trying to get at in my feeble excuse of pictures.

Only issue is that My 2 lights for behind the grille are both blue. Same thing though

I will give that some serious thought.

***B**w*************W**b***
and just alternate the other ways around.. that way u have nice symmetrical lights and flash... or

*********B********b*********
***b**W*************w**B***
and again the other is just alternating..

what do you think Chris?

Just some food for thought chris... if you have the set up of blue and white in the signals... and then you have them flash at the same time the white is going to over power the blue... any color strobe tube isnt going to be as bright as white.

And if you are going with LEDs in the grill, you may not be able to get them to flash on the same pattern as the strobes. But either way they should be able to tell you are coming.

What I was considering depending on how big of a strobe pack I got (4 or 6)
If I got a 4 pack I am just going with one in each signal, the one in each reverse lens. But if I get a six I am going to go with the same as the 4 but the put the other two in the high beam.

That is also where if I got the 4 I was considering a headlight flasher (not legal by far for blues in PA but neither are the strobes so what the heck)

Will be IM'ing you later I'm sure

the only thing i'm worried about with that design is that when you have both strobes go off in the turn signal (white and blue), you might want to watch how much heat is generated...along with what is you color going to look like with both strobes firing at the same time?

with alternating from W -> B you would notice the color difference a little more.....

Just food for thought

Good point indeed! I know that the Blue hide-a-way's are not nearly as bright, and I will take that into consideration as well.

Thanks everyone!

that's why i voted for this one.... :D

Chris - I just don't want you to drill holes in your truck and then realize that it wasn't exactly what you wanted.....

just pointing out different views...but at the end of the day....it's your truck.

Chris,

I just had a thought :D

this has nothing to do with this topic but

for your other strobe pack you could use the cubby on the other side, but cut out the bottom (of the cubby) so the only part you see is where you connect the wires.....

just a thought
