Yea thats the right kit.. I would search the pics for other kits installed and see if there's a difference

I have about the same amount of gap and the fan has never hit the air intake.

I have the same kit and have just under 1/4" freespace between the fan and the intake......Just make sure all your clamps are very tight.....especially the bracket that comes with the kit:thumbsup:

Here's the link to the thread showing the Gap I have on mine......

......this will go away when I have time to install my E-fans.

What is the advantage of the K&N over the Vector or Ieatsrt8 CAIs? It looks to me that the K&N will let in a lot of engine heat vs the other two systems.

When I changed out my MAC intake to K&N I did some modification to my stock lid and used it instead of the "heat shield" that comes with the FIPK.

Slightly off subject: Does anyone have the K&N exemption sticker that comes w/ the K&N kits? Apparently I need one for my setup to pass inspection (just needs a sticker for the intake, how lame) and can't seem to find it :duh:

Any help would be appreciated :D

I remember seeing them with past K&N kits but I bought this one used and I don't recall seeing a sticker.

Have you tried contacting K&N? I bet they would send you one.

Ive got the k&n intake system as well ( on my Rainier ) and the space between the fan and the intake tube mounted to the throttle body is close.... that being said, ive tightened the clamps as well as I can and check placement/movement periodically. No issues so far and damn what a nice tone to the engine, even with stock exhaust
