Has anyone driven both a RWD and AWD TB SS? If so, how do the driving experiences compare?

AWD felt slower in all phases, I'm not one to launch at 2500 rpm, I like my truck home and not having the trans redone every year, AWD great for snow (if you don't have another 4WD, I do, so I don't need another, wifey don't work!), that's it...2WD is better for 98% of the time.

I drove TB SS's AWD before I bought my 2WD. While the AWD may be marginally slower, to me this was more than offset by the surefootedness displayed by the AWD. I drove Paul's TBSS in the rain, and after watching him get on it with confidence, I likewise gave it the gas when I got behind the wheel. Very impressive.

When you're talking 400HP at the flywheel, I don't think there is going to be that much difference between the two, maybe not even enough to be noticeable. But I certainly noticed the traction advantage of the AWD. At times I wish I had gone that way instead of 2WD.....

you're right 400HP is plenty, but I have an extra 20+:D, so most times I'm a little quicker, especially on the go, and I have no plans on "getting on it" in the rain or snow, to do so would be moronic, so far my 2WD with Stability/Traction control has performedflawlessly in the rain, from a stop and at 80+ on the highway...

****SNOW**** please for all you AWD owners, this comes from plenty of experience involving bad weather and tragic accidents....YOU ALSO HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND BE ABLE TO TURN..TRACTION IS A NICE THING, BUT SOMETIMES YOU GET A LITTLE TO SURE WITH IT, AND GO FASTER, PASSING OTHER VEHICLES AND TAKING TURNS FASTER..the same, if not more weight make it more difficult to stop, and handle..I do more reports for SUV's (especially) involved in accidents in bad weather than passenger cars, and more of them are still on the road, (rush hour also) and 9 out of 10 the "crash" is caused by "unsafe speed" and/or "driver inattention" "I have 4WD I thought I was going along fine...TILL I HIT THAT TURN!:o " get the point, hope you guys drive safely, good luck in this bad weather weekend..don't let that superior traction overtake good judgement..

I notice no problem in the rain here in California with 2wd. After the vector tune I do notice a squeal when it shifts into 2nd when you put your foot into it. Tune does make this vehicle more funnnnn.....:rotfl:
