Well, I have a different opinion than everyone else...

I'd take either one in a heartbeat but the trailblazer looks too much like a "normal" trailblazer and in no time people will be putting the SS bumpers and grill etc. on the trailblazer and it wont be anything "special". The article i posted says that the adrenaline will have a power to weight ratio thats superior to to any sport truck ever made...
Just my (unbiased) opinion...however...ill probably end up with a trailblazer ss

As far as looks and use as a every-day driver goes, I'd take the SS hands down.. But looking into the specs a bit I notice that both are very close in terms of perfomance..
The power and torque are about the same on both vehicles, however I could not find any specs for the SVT showing the curb weight.. But one whole section of the article I read boasts about the trucks power to weight ratio being close to that of it's "bigger rivals" and makes up for it's lack of power (compared to it's 500hp Dogde rival).. The weight distribution is about the same on both vehicles as well, the SVT claims an even 60/40 with the SS being around 53/47..
Also, I noticed that the SVT makes that same 390 or so hosrepower with a supercharged 4.6L V8.. It's also mated to a 6 speed tranny while the SS is using a 4 speed.. However I couldn't find anything about the SVT's gearing, or if it's going to be available with AWD..
Now my question.. If two vehicles produce the same amount of HP and TQ and have identical drivetrains, weight, and gearing, BUT one of them makes that power using forced induction (In this case a roots-type blower) and the other NA, which vehicle would outperform??

The sport trac weighs in around 4100 lbs. The TB about 4500 lbs. The sport Trac wins based on power to weight ratio.
I'm still very happy with my purchase. :)

I hope noone here gets mad at me for saying this, but Chevy needs to get their head out of their ass and wake up. I mean they have 1 muscle car. Dodge has 7 or 8 Neon SRT4, Crossfire SRT6, Daytona SRT8, Dodge Ram SRT10 (2 or 4 door), the Charger. Ford has the Focus SVT, Mustang Cobra, Lightning SVT, Harley Davidson (supercharged). Chevy's SSR looks sweet, but is slow (I test drove one) The Silverado SS again, slow. My good friend has a 2004 SRT 4 neon and we SMOKED a Honda S2000. He lost to a vette at the track by .2 seconds. That is sick. I love Chevy and always will, but I hope they step up.

I'd say the verdict is still out since ford hasn't released the curb weight of the SVT. The 4x4 Sport Trac is 4349 lb., and since the SVT is AWD and will have a heavier engine, I'd say that's a fairer comparison than the 4100 lb. weight of the 2wd given above. I'll bet the SVT will even be a bit heavier than that. Here's how they stack up using the weights we know... (weights from media.gm.com and media.ford.com)
Trailblazer SS
Horsepower: 391 hp
Weight: 4552 lbs.
Configuration: Rear Wheel Drive
Est. Quarter Mile Time: 14.315 seconds
Est Quarter Mile Speed: 103.26 mph
Sport Trac SVT
Horsepower: 380 hp
Weight: 4349 lbs. (est.)
Configuration: Rear Wheel Drive
Est. Quarter Mile Time: 14.234 seconds
Est Quarter Mile Speed: 103.84 mph
Sport Trac SVT is faster than Trailblazer SS by 0.0809 seconds
Sport Trac SVT has a higher terminal speed than car 1 by 0.5799 mph
