Is there one thread that lists the issues that some owners are experiencing with their TB SS? If not, maybe this can be it. These two come to mind first, but I know I've read of more:
-Tire rub
-Leather seat fold
If you wouldn't mind disclosing which issues you've had with your TB SS, if any, that would be great. I was hoping to get a TB SS later this year, but I want to know as much as possible about what I should be prepared for from the issues side of things... And I guess if the number/frequency of issues is too great, I may not be a TB SS owner after all - OR - I'll see what GM does about the issues in the '07 model.
Thanks!

nothing comes to mind besides making them put the 3M on before it leaves the lot to prevent paint chipping..

Unless someone can actually stand up and show with a photo the "alleged" tire rub, I'm calling it an Urban Legend. :hissy: :hissy: :hissy:

ludacrist had it, he thinks it was during shipping, other guy never responded back..
The "foglight shake" is another issue that's been reported. Thought I read somewhere that this is fixed on all TBSS's built after Jan. 1st. Maybe some recent owners can confirm this.:undecided As for the folks that have early TBSS's you will need part#15837586 to help with the foglight situation.

Is the kit you talk of ready yet?

I checked the availability of the part right before I posted and there wasn't any in GMs system yet. I will try to remind myself to put a call in tomorrow to see when these will be released. This should be a warrantable item.

I have had 0problems with my ss. I am a very happy owner. I have yet to see rock chips on the rocker panels...my seats are fine, mine was built 12/22/05 and the foglights do not shake.
My only problem I have with my SS is that I just can't find enough time to drive around in it....

Glad to hear you havent had any problems. Have you been under the vehicle to see if you have the foglight brackets?

I peeked under the front awhile ago...I didn't notice any bright and shiny brackets...when it gets warmer out perhaps I'll take another look.

I don't think they are supposed to be shiney...they are black plastic.
Check the link in my sig for the seat issue I am have (there seem to be a few more people coming forth as experiencing this issue as well). I can't believe there aren't more complaints about this....I can't drive for more than 10 minutes without inducing neck pain.
Not too happy with the cheap compressor setup. Cycles all the time and has some bizarre On/Off switch for the aux hookup that doesn't work when the compressor has overheated. Hooked up the hose once and the connector came loose - now it just spins around.
There is ZERO storage space for things like wallet, sunglasses, cell phone, etc. (that little slit doesn't count). As a result, I end up putting stuff on the passenger seat, and of course it ends up all over the place - on the floor, between the passenger door and seat, etc. I can't believe there is NO STORAGE SPACE for stuff. Extremely poor design.
Did I mention the seats? :hissy:

The part is set up with GM but the source has not shipped them out yet.:sleepy: GM did not have a promise date but thought it would be soon.

didn't you downsize from a Tahoe or a Yukon?? I can understand your frustration and your posts bring certain situations to light, but overall I am extremely happy with 99.9% of this truck, maybe because I bought an XUV 1 1/2 years and love that one..best vehicle I've owned so far (I've owned about 30)

In case you didn't notice, the originator of this thread asked for problems we were experiencing (so he could make an informed decision later). So, I provided mine for him. Does that trouble you?

NADA.
Friggun truck is GREAT. I hear the compressor in the back for a second during start-up, but then the 275watt XM stereo kicks in and that sound goes bye bye, hehe. I just want to get the Vector Tune, and that's prolly it, it came just the way I wanted it to, so why fark with perfection? God damn, I love this SUV.

The only issue I have with my TBSS is that whenever I cut the wheel either way I hear the sound of rubbing... I'll be bringing my SS to the local chevy dealership here in the ATL tomorrow to see what they have to say about it.

AWD.. I just called my dealership and they said they have not heard of this problem but it could be something with the steering and when you cut the wheel its squellin a lil bit... may just need to be lubricated:confused:

No Issues so far. This is the first GM vehicle I've had that's lasted 2 months without a trip to the dealership.

OK....this may sound stupid, but could it be axle noise when you cut it full lock right or left. I had a 99 ranger that in 4wd it sounded like the damn wheel was gonna rip off If i cut the wheel too hard in 4wd....just throwin that out there!

I don't have common daily nuisances like wind noise, squeaks and rattles but I've noticed a few things that give me pause:
- Poor rear passenger door alignment
- The right front of my truck sits almost 1/2" lower than the left front. I always thought the truck looked a bit tilted, but confirmed it when measuring for mudflap installation.
- Every now and then I get a strange "thunk" sound and a bit of extra brake pedal travel the first time I apply the brakes after startup. This one bothers me a bit.
- My radio sounds like total junk. Anyone else with the base radio? When I mess with the balance and fade I have like zero bass coming from the left rear speaker and all of the bass in the world coming from the right rear. This sound pressure difference actually messes up my equilibrium a bit. Just listen to exhaust eh?
This truck had good initial quality but it only took two months for that to wear off. The pilot build date of my truck is starting to show more and more. But I still love it.

my pass rrdr is aligned funny as well seems "in to far" but I chalked that up to good ol GM!!
this truck is great, anyone expecting to be more than what it is...think about how much it costs?? you usually get what you pay for..
PS mine sits lower on the right side as well..

I see those two and I see a silver one according to GM Buypower. What kind of deal did they give you on the pricing?
maxgiben

About pricing, sorry but I really can't help you much, my Father-n-Law works for GM Powertrain, so we got the family first discount, it's cool when you're part of the family, you don't have to negotiate. The TBSS is real popular, so I don't think any dealer is motivated to discount them heavily, as they know what they have in stock will sell. That said, they do seem to be good folks at Gwinnett Place.:)
