Has anyone been having alot of problems with their Trailblazer? I bought mine used, it has 20,000 miles and I have had it only two months. I has been in the shop four times all for the same problem. It revves up when I start it "cold". The check engine light is always on. First they updated my programmer, then a couple weeks later, my car was sputtering and stalling out. Had to have it towed. Then it was the fuel pump. To make a long story short, a fuel pump and air pump have since been replaced. I am pretty discouraged and ready to trade it in, or start paperwork for a Lemon Law. I realize that it is warrentied, but I payed alot of money for it and would like to drive it more than it is in the shop.
Any suggestions what to do? :o

Sorry to hear about the probs. I ran a 20oz bottle of the GM fuel system/injector cleaner (GM part number 12345104) and it corrected the service engine soon light.

It did Carfax it. Nothing came up. I have been talking with GM Customer Care. Hopefully things will turn out good. I would like another trailblazer. Thanks for the advice!

Jodipelletier,
You may want to check the legalities regarding lemon law and your vehicle. The lemon laws in some states only apply to new car purchases. Although your having some problems @ the onset of ownership, are the problems being resolved? The possibility on some initial problems with no further problem could be the current situation. If not, maybe talk nicely to the dealership General Manager . Advise him of your concerns, allow him the opporunity to address the faults, but ask him for a method of resolution should repairability become inevitable. If you do decide to pursue this legally, any interim steps you may take in resolution will show an arbitrator you have attempted to resolve the matter in good-faith. Whatever you should do...Good luck in your endeavors.

 Must be Friday afternnoon after lunch at that place EnvoyGuy talked about. Do they have a lunch time place like that in Oklahoma City for the extended chassis workers?

what are the codes its throwing. Off the top of my head, without knowing the codes, it sounds like an intake leak (vacuum leak) or a bad maf, (once again not sure if we even run a maf since i only had my car liek 3 days lol)

My 04 engine died on me yesterday and steering wheel locked up...all lights on, service engine soon and all that good stuff...was able to drive to the dealer this morning, picking the car up tomorrow morning. They said a few people have come in with the same problem. Recall possibly in the future??? Wasnt very happy with only 14k miles on the car.

Sorry to hear about your problems. My wife has an 04 TB 4x4 and she only had a problem with a key fob. She has 29,000 miles on it. One thing I know is cars taken in by most GM dealers if they have been in floods, wrecks, etc. they will wholesale them, they don't want them on their lots. Ford dealers do the same. I know this because I know personally an owner of a GM Store in the Las Vegas Area, and a Ford Dealer in Central Nevada. In fact Ford won't except any rental returns that have been wrecked, or had alot of warranty problems, high mileage, etc. I'm sure GM is the same. Ford sells them as "program cars".
Did you buy it from a GM Dealer? :m2:

'04 problems? Back for a dead criuse control 3 times now, the last time the dealer's tech found a bad connection. Had the air pump replaced also. And the PCM re-flashed. Rear suspension links replaced. Fuel filler neck updated so it doesn't spit back on a fill-up. And a few more minor problems. 15 months & 18k miles on it, that's still a better record than my Subaru.

I have just about had it with the "Service Engine Soon" light!!!! I took the truck to the dealership and they said "the O2 Sensors were bad". I got the truck back 1.5 days later and now, 4 days later, the light is back on! Now, Here is the frustrating part, I have left several messages for the dealership and the person that handled my truck....hmmmmmmmmmmm Do you think they would call back? NOT! I noticed the truck would surge at times and drag at others. Well, today, my truck stalled on me in traffic! I got it to start again and got myself home. This definitely sounds like something to do with a fuel situation. Does anyone have the Chevy Corporate phone number or email address? My truck is NEW. I should NOT be having these problems.
Thanks,
Deb

You should drop in and see the service manager, complain about the service dept not returning your calls and them rushing your vehicle through without fixing the problem. If that doesn't work, then go corporate... :m2:

this problem seems very similar to the one i am having with my wifes 02 TB. it wants to stall out and run rough with the power lacking. i know the plugs need changing but last night i got a bank one lean code and a bank one rich code. i am thinking possibly one of the o2's are dead or both.
also, anyone know if 5.3 o2's are the same as the 4.2L?

I couldn't find the part numbers for the O2s, but I would assume they would be different. Your local parts store can tell you for sure.
Also if I may suggest it, I recommend going with Bosch brand replacement O2s. I don't know why, but when I put a set in my old truck it ran better on the bosch units than it did on OEM ones while they were still working. :m2:

I think the security system that shuts down the engine and steering wheel is the problem.
