mine was driven on plowed (2" packed ice and snow) side streets, not any different from my GXP..stability control a non factor, trac control came on a couple of times from a stop, more me experimenting than the truck slipping, stopped fine and handled fine...it's a RWD truck what are you expecting to hear?? 100x better than my mustang or camaro were, about the same as a heavy RWD car is..spun less than my GXP (FWD)..

agreed. The only thing thats killing the performance of the 2wd in snow is the all-season tires. With that said, it's very adept in most slippery conditions as long as you know how to drive RWD. I made the drive from Lansing to Detroit with heavy sleet, ice and snow early on in January without a care in the world and the vehicle was very stable. going up steep inclines with no momentum would be my biggest worry, either that or black ice on an exit ramp. You just have to be careful.
If I were driving to a log cabin for a ski trip with heavy snow I'd definitely want Blizzaks but for most city driving with snow the 2wd is fantastic but then again I was driving a Mustang with 295 series summer tires before this so anything is better than that for me lol. but seriously, I drove the Charger RT in light snow and with comparable tires stock I feel the SS was a little better and unlike my Mustang, the traction control actually does its job in this platform.

Here's the deal....my Wife is a travelling Nurse - she visits ~ 6 homes per work day regardless of conditions (people need their insulin shots / wound care done). This past Sunday, in the height of the storm, she was out there driving in the worst of it in her AWD Subaru and as she puts it "I passed everything stuck on the road..."
While the TBSS wouldn't be her every day ride, I was wondering if the Trac. Control / Stabilistuff made the RWD limited slip rear alot better than a RWD standard Posi setup of yore ... aka my '95 RoadMaster Wagon. That would be her daily ride (god gas mileage plus room for the Twins on the way....) and Id "loan" her my TBSS when the snow falls ... usually about 5-10 times a year here on Long Island.
I've driven RWD Posi all my life - 5 winters in Buffalo while in school, and about 20+ years after that. I have no problems ... but she's not adept at it. In Fact, I bought the '95 Roady for her 2 years ago (I have a '94). She LOVED it until the first snow where she proceeded to do a 540 deg. spinout and ended up facing the wrong way on a 4-lane'r. We hadn't gotten rid of the Subi yet, and she said "Im done with the Wagon....I want my Subi back !!!"
....of course the easy answer is to get the AWD TBSS, but I *think* I like the simplicity of the RWD version better....Its not like we're in Winter WonderLand where I can expect to see ALOT of snow 3-4 months a year.
....thoughts ?? Convince me otherwise ??
