So I want to be able to disable my stabiltrak to do burnouts, etc. It automatically kicks in when I try to spin tire, and I wondered if there was a way to temporarily disable it and how?

On the gear shift, there is a small button. Press it and the traction control and stabilitrac will be turned off....

Press it once to turn off the traction control, press and hold it until both traction control and stabilitrac are disabled. Press it once again to reactivate both.

When I use that button, it turns the stabiltrak on (light turns on) and then if I hit the button again, it turns it off, but still it automatically comes on (lights up and blinks) when I begin to spin tire, etc....

No, you have it backwards... when that light comes ON after pressing the button once, that means Traction control is off. If you press it again, the light will go off and that means traction control is back on. when the traction control is ON (meaning you should see no light on your dash) it will blink if you lose traction to warn you of poor traction and that your traction control/stabilitrak is working.

Now if you want BOTH traction control AND Stabilitrak off you need to HOLD the button in until the light on the dash starts to blink (aprox 3 seconds) after the light blinks it will stay on, and both your traction control and stabilitrak are off then. If you hit the button again, it is the same as before, the light will go off and both traction control and stabilitrak will be ON

Everytime you start your vehicle, Stabilitrak and Traction control are automatically on.. you have to disable them with the button any time you do not want them on.

By the way, it is all in your owners manual.
