My '02 LTZ with 94K miles on it is leaking fluid out the transmission vent tube. This happened with about 50K miles on it, and the dealer diagnosed it then as overfilled. They did a tranny service and all has been well until now. I do my own servicing and haven't added any fluid since that service at 50K. The level does look a little high, but only just. Considering it's cold and there haven't been any changes in my driving (no towing, or aggressive driving), I really don't understand why it's now leaking.
Has anyone else had this problem? I may just have it flushed as it's almost due anyway and see if it stops.

The vent tube on the very top of the transmission ?? Are you sure that is where the fluid is coming from ? There are a few other things that can leak on these transmissions if the seals dont hold up.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious it's coming from the vent tube. When I got underneath to see where it was coming from, I actually saw a couple drips.

It could be that your fluid is boiling and pushing it out of the vent tube.
I would drop the tranny pan and check to see if something is plug. Also check the oil to see if it is burned and install a new filter.
Or you could pull the dip stick and smell/visually check the fluid.

anyone really know if the tb and voy's have an external trans cooler, or is it built into the radiator? Would we be able to add an external cooler, for those guys that tow their toys?

Its built into the radiator.
It is easy to add an external cooler, I have done it along with a bunch of other guys. Search for the threads about towing and you will find out what you need to know to do it yourself.:D

IS yours a 4x4? if so look into a seal between trans and transfer case Had a 1995 s blazer that would do that. even caught the truck on fire once.
