HELP - Drivers side rear door panel question?

OK just wondering if anyone had this happen on their TB. I have an 02 TB LS. Bought it from a guy who pampered it (I think). But after I got it home and had washed it I noticed that the front bottom edge of the rear door panel had bad rock damage. At that time I noticed that even though the top of the door panel was flush with where the front door panel was, the bottom stuck out about a half an inch. I can put my little finger in the gap. Well I thought perhaps because it didn't have mud guards on it that was why the paint was chipped off the edge of the panel. So I put on mudguards and bought some touch up paint for the edge. Well now that it is winter I guess the tires are still throwing some snow even with the guards and the snow if going into the gap and pasting the front of the door and a bit of the snow actually ends up in a pile near where the floor mat would be. I spoke with the owner and he assured me that the unit was never in an accident.

Any ideas on what would cause this? Do you think a door adjustment would help as I am getting tired of cleaning out the snow and slush from the gap and behind? The only thing about a door adjustment is that is flush to where it should be on top, it just the lower part of the door that is out.

Any ideas?????

Did you have a CarFax done before you bought it? Might be a good idea.

Isn't there a couple of rubber seals that go along the bottom edge? Right after I got my 02 my son was getting in the back seat and he accidently knocked it off. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out how it went back on and where. You might compare it to the other side and see if you are missing any of those rubber seals.

Hi,

No rubber seals are there. It is just that the bottom of the panel sticks out about a half an inch and the snow is possibly forced in by the tires. The other side is fine.

OK my last message didn't sound right. Yes the rubber seals are there. I will try and get a pic of what I am talking about.

See the gap, while the top of the door panel is where it is supposed to be, the bottom is gapped. I am wondering what to do as you see the gap it fills with snow and slush and also the very edge gets rock chipped because it is sticking out. Would a door adjust ment work being the top part of the panel is in the right place.
