53% residual at 27 months and I THINK 4.25 money factor w/ 15,000 miles a year. This was in late Jan.

I put about $1000 down and used the $1000 rebate for the rest. You should be able to call a delaer, get the numbers for residual on a TB SS (2WD LS,LT, and 4WD LS,LT) and money factor on the lease and then use an online calculator to determine your lease payments. Money factor will depend on your credit rating.

you can do the smartbuy for any of the terms (I personally like the 36mos, just long enough to enjoy/not get sick of it) even if the $ stays the same for the 27mos, I would do a 36mos, as you're paying for what you use, it's not like you're getting beat out of anything, goes back either way, just do what feels right..good luck, and me personally, I don't put a dime down, nothing ZERO (only Reg/MV fees, usually $60-$90+ Reg) tax included no bank fees, security, ETC.

I look at the total $$$amount I pay for my two vehicles as an automatic and luckily I can afford it, and will always do the lease, it works for me, I don't drive anywhere near the max miles, and I like a new vehicle every few years, now I get a new one every year and a half (between the 2 Smartbuys I have) but you need to look at how much you want to customize/mod it, and in a few years will you still be able to maintain a car payment or is it better for you to have it paid off in 60mos?? (do you own a house yet??)

My understanding was a smartbuy was only a good idea if you lived in a state with high personal property tax or legal block.

I put money down to pay down the principle (use) that you are paying interest on. I figure some of my money will do better than 4.5%, but that paying down $2000 to save $600 over 27 months wasn't a horrible idea... :D All in what you are comfortable with. It also reduced my payments quite a bit.

I would agree that you can typically do better with the money on your own, but I like low monthly payments.

Tell me more about SmartBuy vs Lease with personal property taxes... this sounds interesting!

never heard of smartbuy/Taxes? Smartbuy was created for the Mfr's to be covered if you go crazy and run over a family, or drink and drive and have an accident..Some cunning lawyers found a loophole in leases that make it possible to hold the Mfr's responsible (go figure, a lawyer manipulating the system??) the smartbuy is really a purchase w/option to turn back at the end or pay a balloon payment..same thing as a lease but removes any possible litigation involving them..

I personally took a 48mos this time around because (my wife) the queen wouldn't here of me spending more a month for a new truck since my GXP was only 7mos old. so mine with no money down and them paying the first month (only 46 left now!!) I paid only 30.5k for mine (from 35.9k) original sticker was 39k+.. I was upside down by $5k on my GXP, so my payments aren't going to reflect what you would pay (roughly on a 36mos figure $20-25 per thousand financed)..

I did a 2 year smartbuy with 0 down and my payments are $456. I went with 15,000 miles a year. In 2 years my wife will want a new car anyway and I can usually do a pull ahead program in 1 1/2 years.

Mine had a new lower sticker price of about $38,400. Had $6k equity in a trade in. 36 mo lease at $472/mo including all maintenance (mobile 1 is expensive). I got tired of putting $8K-$12k down every 2-3 years just to break even on trade-ins. :hissy:

wow... what did you put down..

Nothing down... I wrote the dealer a check for just over $500 which was first months payment and a couple other fees. I forgot to mention that I get GMS pricing also.
