I have noticed that on dry roads when in auto 4wd drive mode I can hear a slight whine coming from the front... I would just keep in rwd mode but we have some ice patches and it is reasuring to have the 4wd if needed.

off topic - but how does the a4wd work? Many auto systems I have driven have almost zero slip and its engaged -- on the Ascender err Enovy :-) it takes a tad bit longer. does that cause any "bad" stress on the drivetrain?

thanks in advance,
John

I had they same noise after replacing the two front tires i had damaged from a huge pot hole last winter. this was caused by the difference in wear in the new tires and old ones so i ended up buying 4 new tires for this winter because the factory tires sucked and the noise was gone
