got a 2002 envoy xlt auto air, The hvac mode when changed the door started chattering. I had a garage diagnose the thing and they said that the 89018539 actuator was bad wouldnt say any thing alse. They didn't say what kind of actuator it is or where. I have researched a little and think it is the mode door actuator. when we change air mode the air flows every where. I pulled the front of the left dash off and identified it and could see it chattering. I removed two screws and the part that was the actuator was loose but was still being held by something above that I can not see. I cant tell if the door is in two parts and needs to come out as a whole unit or not. Any help here. thanks, do you respond here or to my email.
I have read about this tool for removing the actuator. I hope some one out there has a picture of the thing, also If I have the two screws out
the only thing holding in the actuator is the shaft, is that true? can I get the actuator off the shaft with out the tool?
Help thanks all

There are or should be three screws. Here is the thread I used and the thread I started on getting the actuator off on a 2002. My dad actually made a tool but we have yet to test it as the tool was made after the replacement. I can get pictures of it this weekend if you want to see it.

A picture would be great! I see the actuator in the 03Higgy thread and it looks just like the I have. But note there are only two screws and one alignment hole. I went out and again looked at mine and got the part number off of it. I had the thing lose with the two screws and all I did was just pull on it alittle bit as I was afraid to pull hard.
Last thing the p/n for my actuator is different than what was told and I dont know why. I hope they convert to each other. any body know?
actual=52489426 and told=89018539
thanks again for the reply
