Has anybody had any problems with their TB either stalling, cutting out or stuttering when you are driving? The times it happens most are:

1. If I back out of somewhere, then put it in drive and try to take off. This doesn't matter if I come to a complete stop or am still rolling.

2. If I sit at idle in gear for over 30 seconds, like at a stop light. Then I take off.

It doesn't happen everytime on either instance above, but it does happen everyday.

The stealer told me it needed a new fuel filter, so I replaced it and it still continues to stall/cutout/stutter. They said they don't get any codes when they hook it to the machine. I've mentioned that there are some TSB's out on sluggish performance and whatnot, but they said they read all those and none of them apply to what I complaining that my Trailblazer's symptoms are.

Somebody please help. :) Thanks.

mine actually stalled last week. I backed out of a spot and put it into drive and then nothing. Steering wheel locked up too. I plan on taking it to the dealer cause i have a few other small problems with the car.

I THINK this same issue just came up recently with another member; I seem to remember the person needing some GM Injector Cleaner to run in their tank and it cleared the problem up.

Also I'd have the dealership do a stress-test on the battery/charging system and also make sure it has the latest software loaded to the PCM. Those are the only things I can think of at the moment. :m2:

I had the same problem with my trailblazer, they did computer updates and it hasn't happened again.

If you can't get to a dealer conveniently, throw a bottle of Chevron Techtron injector cleaner in the fuel tank. Available at Auto Zone, WalMart, etc.

Won't hurt your truck, and may be the answer in a bottle :m2:

I ran a bottle of "Outlaw" fuel injector cleaner (available at advance auto parts) through it about a month ago and it didn't work. It still cuts out.

That outlaw stuff is more of an octane booster than an injector cleaner; you'd probably see better results with stabil than that stuff. If anything, by boosting the octane you're making the injectors WORSE instead of better. :m2:

Really, okay I'll go buy some of the other stuff tonight. Is Chevron Techtron injector cleaner like Envoy Fan suggested the best stuff or should I go with STP, Gumout or one of the other 10 types they have?

Of the "commonly available" ones, Chevron Techron is the best to grab. I've also had good luck with the "Z-Max" system (has bottles to add for the fuel, oil, trans. fluid) but people seem to think I'm nuts for using it. Hey, I think it works, but what do I know? :D

I too have trubble with the TB stalling. It only happens in reverse, or going from reverse to drive. I would take it in, but I am sure they would blame it on my Borla exhaust or my cold air intake.

I've taken it in again for this stuttering problem and they tell me there is nothing they can do. They say it doesn't pull any codes on the little machine and if they were to hook it to the big machine it wouldn't show anything either. :x

I have tried running Chevron Techtron Fuel System Cleaner through this tank of gas, but I'm almost empty and it still stalls/stutters. I made sure I only added 10 gallons of gas since the Chevron stuff says it will treat 12 gallons.

I guess it's just something I'll have to live with until, Chevy finally realizes that something is wrong with the TB somewhere and does a TSB or recall. They seem to be getting good at doing recalls lately.

Any ideas out there, then let me know.

If it were mine and I had no luck with the dealer or Techtron, I would be tempted to give it an "Italian tune"
Unhook the battery for about 45 minutes to clear the codes. Reattach battery cable. Take truck out and run it up to 70 or 80 at wide open throttle and let off and do again and again for a period of time. (legal disclamer, I'm not responsible for what happens.....) :D

Also, possible something in the fuel filter that Techtron is not taking care of. Just a thought :m2:

Well I had a similar problem yesterday. Filled 'er up at Quick Trip & went back to work. Got about 1000 feet then I just had now power. I had the pedal almost to the floor, but the eingine was just dying. It seemed to me like I had a maunaul in 4th trying to go up a big hill from a dead start. It happend 1 more time about 15 seconds later. The Qt is less than a quarter mile from work, so when I got to the top deck of the parking garage I just hit the Onstar button. It's at the dealer as I type this. They overnighted a new computer that is supposed to go in today. This saturday, 11 June 2005 will be 7 months to the day. I just went over 18,000 miles last week.

Hope the new computer fixes your truck.
