Hello all...yesterday I replaced the shock absorbers on all four corners (seems to be a better ride), and I checked out my front brakes...and I noticed that the pads have a small crack right down the center of the actual friction surfaces (two on each pad). I take it this is bad, eh? I also noticed on the rotors...very small, possibly cracks. I brake real hard sometimes from high speeds (fire calls) and do not know if they're glazed over or not. I am half-tempted to just do the pads today, and the rotors another time...but then again I can do both while I'm under there. Any ideas/feedback? I was considering NAPA pro ceramic, or equivalent pads.

I'd just do the pads and take some sand paper to the rotors. swapping pads is a bit easier than removing the caliper mounting brackets and doing everything

New pads + glazed rotor= horrible stopping. Get some new pads and get your rotors resurfaced and be done with it. Thats what I would do if it were me.

sadly....no. the only ones I ever had that they told me were glazed, weren't really silver anymore, they kind of turned a silver/bronze color. I assume from the metal heating up. Wish I could tell ya more.
