Bilstein has launched the first major promotion in their history.
From today until April 30th when you buy 3 Bilstein shocks for most SUV and trucks you get 1 free. How it works is you come to www.Shockwarehouse.com and look up your vehicle. Look for the promotional banners indicating the shocks that are covered by this offer. Buy 4 of those shocks and get one of the lesser value shocks FREE !

You can find all the information on them here:

http://www.shockwarehouse.com/news/bilstein-special-2009.cfm

Many Trailblazers and Envoy shocks are listed as well !!!

If you have any questions let me know.

My error, it was s typo, you buy 3 and get the 4th free. I have corrected it, thanks for pointing it out.

It is an amazing deal, they have never done this, it is a great time to swap out shocks....

This brings a question to mind. I'm going to have the 2" BDS suspension lift installed in front & rear. I'm going with the z71 springs in the rear. There will also be a steel bumper and bash plate on the front. For the front shocks, what do I use to compensate for the added weight of the bumper and bash plate (about 100 lbs)? For the rear shocks, what do I use with the z71 springs?

The timing of this promotion is perfect since I will be doing all of these mods at the end of March. I was planning on going with the BDS shocks on the rear and not replacing the OEMs on the front. However, I think I need to reassess this and go with all new shocks (92k miles on the original OEMs).:undecided

Just ordered my Bilsteins today. Was looking at pricing a few days ago and am glad I waited to submit my order. Thanks for the great deal!

Is the truck 2WD or 4WD?
What year is it?
Is it a 1500 or 2500?

You should read this first before choosing a shock - http://www.shockwarehouse.com/news/lifted-trucks.cfm

The big issue is if Bilstein offers a bolt in shock, otherwise you would have to use a 5125 or 5150. But we need to know what kind of truck it is.

Let me know.

Neither 1500 nor 2500. It's for the 2005 Trailblazer listed in my profile in the top right corner of my post. 4.2L I6, 4WD. I'll go to the link you suggested and take a look. My primary question though is how should I deal with the extra weight of the steel front bumper? Should I use a higher rated shock with a stiffer spring?

Shockguys

We don't have any product to add support on the front on the Trailblazers.
So the spring would be the only way to go if someone offers a product like that.

If BDS says you can use a stock length unit, the Bilsteins would be the best good choice to help minimize or eliminate any up and down movement with the extra weight up there. And to give better stability in handling and control, especially at highway speeds.

If BDS says you can't use a stock length unit, we won't have any units you can use, we do not have any units for lifted Trailblazers.

I hope this helps!

yikes I wish I knew this a few days prior. I just bought mine on Feb 24th. I probably would've sprung (no pun intended) for all four, not just the front 2.:duh:

Still can't complain though, great price on them anywho.
And the shipping was SUPER fast. I had them 2 days later I think it was.

I just installed my Bilstein HD's front and rear this past Friday after work and they do make a huge difference. They are firmer and add a much more controlled feel over the factory Bilsteins that the factory puts on, but not harsh in any way. Thanks for the promotion and the quick turn around time!

Glad to hear it, they are a great product.

If you need brake pads check out www.BrakepadWarehouse.com
where Monroe has a promotion going as well.

thanks!

Hello Shockguys,

I was just on the Shockwarehouse.com site, looking to order a pair of Bilstein shocks (front) for my '05 TB LS, but wasn't sure if Part Number F4-BE5-A333-H0 is an HD or not. I see the HO at the end of the part number and that made me hesitate.

Is there another part number for the HD's?

Thanks.

Hello Shockguys,

My ride is '04 Envoy XUV, 4WD, rear air suspension

About 1 month ago I was checking into getting Bilstein HD, front and back, and FR4-BE5-A333-HO and FR4-BE5-A334-HO showed up on your search tool. Then you guys offered 4 shocks for the price of 3 and those numbers didn't show up anymore. :( When I search for '04 Trailblazer these numbers do show up. Is there a fit issue with the Envoy XUV? Are they the correct numbers? I am ready to buy! (I have rear air leveling and am adding SMAX 1.75" spacer to level the front)

Thank you,

Scott

Yes those are Heavy Duty Bilsteins the most popular shock we sell for your TB.

Good Luck!

Yes there is, they do not fit the 04 Envoy4WD XUV, I just checked with Bisltein and Bisltein does not make a shock for it at all. I could not get a specific reason why. Only Monore Sensatrac's are available, which we do have....

Wish I had more for you....

Dang...:weird: Well, thanks anyway. I have factory Bilsteins now. I guess I'll stick with them for the time being. Sensatrac's aren't considered heavy duty are they?

No Monroe Sensatrac's are twin tube desing, Bilstein is Monotube, and are much stronger. If you are just doing around town driving without too much heavy load, the Monroe shock would be fine. Otherwise, they are not your best choice.

Best of Luck.

Shockguys,

Not trying to be a PIA but, let me ask. The Sensatrac numbers are the same now for the TB and XUV. :duh: The Bilstein Numbers were the same last month but no longer show up in the online catalog. It seems to me that they should be OK just by this cross reference.

I saw one old post here where one of our members had used these Bilstein HDs on their XUV and even provided the numbers. I started a new thread ("XUV Shocks") hoping to get info about more recent use. If I get confirmation from someone that has used them, I will go ahead and purchase the ones listed for the TB.

Thanks,

Scott

I'm gald you brought this up, you are correct. I had our technical folks talk to Bilstein and their is a catalog error on Bilsteins part (and thus ours).

These part numbers do fit your 2004 XUV:

F4-BE5-A333-H0
F4-BE5-A334-H0
F4-BE5-A335-H0

And we have updated our site as well, so you can order them and use your Trailvoy10 discount code for 10% off. Unfortunately, these parts are not part of the Bilstein sale going on, but you have our discount to use.

Enjoy and thanks!

Mine arrived Tuesday night. Now, to find the time to get them installed. Also going to replace the front brake rotors at the same time. Should be a much smoother ride when I get done. No swaying in the breeze and herky-jerky stops.

Installed all four new shocks Tuesday night. Took my son and I an hour to do the shocks and replace the front brake rotors.

The ride was a tad rough the first couple of days, but I've seen that with most new shock replacements these days. It is smoothing out day by day, and the new Bilstiens made a BIG difference in handling.

I like... :woot: New ride is firm, but not obnoxious. First couple of days, you could feel every road vibration and tar strip. Now, smoothed out. Rides more like a Vette than a Caddy, but that is good for me.

Note: If a smooth ride is your focus, the Monroe Sensa shocks are the way to go. I replaced an almost new set on the back, and the Monroe's rode smoother -- more luxury car like than the Bilstiens, but not quite as good in the handling department overall. I have the Monroes listed for sale in the market section of the forum if anyone is interested in a nice set of shocks for half price.

Actually we're cheaper. If you see otherwise we price match (http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/pricematch.cfm). As a forum supporter it's a win-win.

Additionally, we're offering 20% off if you purchase both a full set of brake pads and shocks.

Let me know if there's any questions.
